Hi all!
Finding this forum makes me happy. 44 years old, with a wife and 2 kids. In my 20's health and fitness came easily because all the free time in the world was there to hit the gym, eat good food, and study/work. Staying reasonably fit through my early to mid 30's was possible because kids weren't in the picture and going to the gym kept up. However, because the work I do is enjoyable, my diet fell by the wayside.
Marriage came in my last 30's and after our first kid arrived (during covid) both of us slacked on our diet and exercise. Hitting 40 really felt like father time had caught up with me...low energy, low motivation, overweight (6'2" and 235 lbs) and feeling terrible.
A nurse for a mother and doctors for uncles and aunts meant traditional medicine and U.S. hospitals always had my faith. My doctor told me I was prediabetic and could help me with medicine - but putting medicine in my body for something my wife said fasting and diet changes could regulate wasn't wanted. Skipping breakfast (black coffee only) began and my wife helped me improve my diet. No medicine for me, thank God. But I still didn't feel like myself.
Seeing a Urologist in Tijuana, Mexico (we live in San Diego) was my wife's recommendation. Her advice got trusted and a great doctor got found. My labs came back quite normal... except for my testosterone which was so low that fathering kids was surprising to him. testosterone pellets were his recommendation and I have not looked back since. Energy, focus, and sex drive are all great.
Martial arts get done, what I eat gets watched, and plenty of water gets drunk. Vitamins recommended by my doctor are also taken, plus digestive plant enzymes. Good is how I feel but the fat, doesn't come off...father time has caught up. A young family is here and being around to enjoy my wife and kids for a long time is what I want.
My wife, has metabolic disorder, and although she looks fantastic has to work very hard to stay in shape. Peptides are what she's been looking into to help with that. Ozempic got heard about but wasn't interesting. However, when my wife told me Reta could reverse fatty liver, interest showed up. Overall health is my goal. Research and education come first before we take the plunge. Thank you for reading! To our health!!
