33 year old fella here. Working out a lot is my thing and big/strong is what I am, but very lazy is also true and eating like a drunk frat boy happens way too often. With a toddler at home and a second one on the way, being better about maintaining a healthy weight and staying in shape matters to me, so I can be a better role model.

Over the years, a lot of fad low-carb diets have been done (Atkins, keto, South Beach, carnivore, etc.) along with various fasting regimens (IF, OMAD, 7-day fasts). Huge yo-yo dieter here — 40 lbs has come off over a few months probably 5 different times, but focus always seems to slip and it all goes back on.

Most of the time I’m sitting around ~30% body fat, though down to 8–12% has happened a handful of times. Much better is how I feel in that range — clearer mentally, more motivated — and making that more consistent instead of temporary is what I'd like to find.

GLP-1 medications have been taken by a couple friends and their results seem to keep them happy. Skeptical has been my stance, since they’re sold as a new class of “miracle drugs,” yet the benefits seem to grow the more I read.

Finally the plunge got taken and an account got made. Lurking on the forum has been my habit for the better part of a week, but man, it all feels pretty overwhelming — a little hand-holding would definitely help. Whether these are actually as miraculous as they seem, and potentially how to get started, is what I'm hoping y'all can help me figure out.

Love,
