INTRO 25yo afraid of needles

It seems like a lot but I always recommend filtering, whether you are using pens or not. Filters are cheap and it doesn't take much time after the first one or two times. And the truth is you're just shifting the time to the beginning instead of every day.

Also, 5mg x 1ml bac would give you 250mcg for each 5 units. So you could easily recon 3 vials then filter into a single pen cartridge. Only need 1 filter and vent needle, you can use a 3ml syringe for recon so you only need 1 recon needle since you'll draw the bac once. You can use the same needle to inject into each vial since you'll use a new needle and filter when putting it in the pen cartridge. And now you have a pen cartridge that lasts 30 days and your injections each day take seconds.

Would be a little harder with 10mg vials, because you'd prob want to keep it at 2ml bac so you won't fill a full cartridge. You could get a 10mg and 5mg kit and do one of each rather than 3 x 5mg in 3ml as another option.

Honestly, at this point I'd rather just pay you to handle it. Put together a temperature-controlled shipment for me, or honestly just send over your entire fridge. It's starting to make sense why those longevity and wellness clinics can get away with charging an arm and a leg just to have a nurse take care of this.

Is it just me, or does each filter cost more than $20?

Funny enough, back when my ex-wife was doing IVF, she said the Dr told her the shots wouldn't hurt — and she called that a lie. She tried icing the spot, and even tattoo numbing creme, but she still said they were extremely painful. Honestly, I think the Dr had it right: they don't hurt. 🤣

Weirdly, the T shots I used to get in my butt hurt more!

am I mistaken or filters are $20+ each?

I go with these. If you're reconstituting and loading several cartridges in one go, roughly 10ml can pass through a single filter.

alright @CDRom looks like more digging is needed on my end. appreciate you filling in the background — it shifts how I see things. something in my response keeps tripping the spam filter (could be the pricing or sourcing talk setting it off). it's been more than a week since I could post a reply

Once you begin, you'll see it's simpler than it looks at the outset of your research, which can feel overwhelming. For the shots themselves, simply pick up 30 gauge insulin syringes—you won't feel anything.
Appreciate the response. Right, I figured 30 unit syringes would work well for bpc when measuring out 250mcg doses. Gauge is about needle thickness, and a higher number equals a thinner needle. What length do you go with—8mm or 6mm?
Like the others mentioned, a 30-31 gauge with a 5/8” length (that’s the US measurement) means you won’t feel a thing……the catch is if you poke it into vials more than once and dull the point. In other words, don’t mix your pep with one syringe and then reuse that same one to draw and inject. Going through the rubber stopper 3 times will blunt the needle. Ouch!

These are the ones I use. And you can filter about 10ml through one filter, if you recon and fill multiple cartridges at once.

Nice find with the filters! For bulk orders, Biologix and Cobetter are the simplest options, and in testing they've performed well at eliminating bacteria, even when the concentration is high.

Something worth adding: I'd go with a fresh filter+needle for every cart or vial. Taking the filter straight from the wrapper and putting it on the needle works fine, but the moment that wet filter tip is exposed, you're basically asking to get someone pregnant (with bacteria). To be fair, BAC does the job pretty well, but is saving $0.5 really worth the risk?

As soon as you get going with the injections, that fear of needles disappears. Plus, there are plenty of spots available for pinning. I’ve even put my TRT shot into the outer part of my thigh. I was scared stiff about doing it, but there aren’t any nerves in that area. I didn’t feel a thing. It did look frightening, though, watching a needle stuck in my leg.

While doing work on my plane, safety wire has cut into me more times than I can tally. On a handful of occasions it went entirely through my hand and came out the opposite side. The swearing was legendary!!!!

Now jump ahead to peptides. Those 31g needles are tiny enough that reading glasses are needed just to spot the little thing. Once I began injecting, I already understood it was nothing to worry about. Nothing like bent, oily safety wire driven into a finger or palm.... Admittedly the first attempt took a few seconds to confirm I had it right. These days I just grab a 31g needle 1/4 inch long. No pain, no hassle, no problems.

Come out and assist with my plane's annual inspection this year. By the time you finish, I guarantee needles will not bother you.

Retired A&P mechanic here. Sure wish I lived in that part of the country. I'd swap time with a screwdriver for time spent sight-seeing. Lookin out the window never gets old for me. Fly on...

Did you have a needle phobia from childhood, or did a single bad needle experience leave you permanently afraid? I've never been afraid of needles, so I'm interested in hearing about it.

Hello! I've dealt with a needle phobia my whole life. A 31g isn't even noticeable! There's still a tiny jolt of fear whenever I inject, but it's simple to push through. Wishing you the best as you start out!
