New York Times Article on Chronic Inflammation and GLP's: The widespread use of GLP-1s like Ozempic and Zepbound has upended ideas about what those answers might be and how soon we might have them. These drugs appear to modestly reduce chronic inflammation throughout the body without impeding the immune system’s ability to fight infection. People taking GLP-1s to treat diabetes and spur weight loss have found that some of their chronic conditions seem to get better, too.

That is indeed food for thought. I mean, inflammation exists for some beneficial reasons, yet when our peptides and GLP-1s clear it out--it that to our benefit or harm?

As a person with ulcerative colitis, I was pleasantly surprised to learn GLP1s could keep the inflammation at bay.

I have the lowest C-reactive protein level I ever had upon my most recent blood draw.

With that said, three things have changed:

1. Started retatrutide

2. Started KLOW

3. Thanks to my peptide regimen I have been way better about taking my UC meds.

I think people who have auto-immune conditions will benefit more than others.

Unless information that suggests I do otherwise emerges, I currently plan to run reta or tirz until I die.

Exactly. There is a right amount of inflammation. For what ever reasons the immune system can over-react and not let go. That's when we need help.

In the same boat taking Reta and a KPV/BPC blend daily has completely cleared up any lingering UC symptoms. I’ve actually stopped taking my daily standard meds

That's great to hear!

I managed to go 5 years without medication and was able to avoid flare ups.

Unfortunately it came back and I went back on meds. I do think the combination of Mesalamine, KLOW and Reta is better than Mesalamine alone.

I wish you smooth sailing, keep me posted how this goes for you. UC solidarity!

Thanks for sharing your experience. This honestly gave me a perspective I hadn’t heard before.

While more clinical data is needed to confirm, the potential of GLP-1 in chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases is certainly something we should keep a close eye on.

Really appreciate you bringing up a topic that doesn’t get discussed as much.

I have lupus and always had inflammation. My last crp was perfect! I don't remember the last time it was normal. It's been years. Added kpv and klow or glow. It's helped as well. I have IBS and I've not had a flare up since adding kpv.
