HYALO mess

I’ve got three of them sitting here, all from one of the lots that got named. Right now my vials are clear, but seeing those long fibers in other people’s vials was icky. Are you keeping up with the executive’s thread?

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on that too, and my take was basically the same as yours. And honestly, the idea of shelling out compounding-level $$$ only to end up with floaters in there really bugs me. The upside is that when I recon a vial and it turns out janky, I'm not out a huge amount of $$ by throwing it away.

I noticed the same thing. The number of posts was huge! It would be great if somebody put it to the test, since I'm interested to find out.

I have to resist the urge to tell everyone to use a filter!

Frightening, I realize it isn't the same pharmacy, yet I still have a bit of apothecary remaining. From what I understand, Hyalo acquired the formula from them. That's at least what I came across on Reddit.

unfortunately, by the time endos have developed, most filters would already be past the point of helping..

True, though the presence of fibers (contaminants) doesn't automatically mean endotoxins are there. What matters is the route by which they get into the vial.

I don't believe that's the case?

Well, either they put something in that shouldn't be there or they left something out, because it's vial after vial after vial!

So many vials have tiny floaters in them. Could the BAC they're using be contaminated?

I've also been keeping up with these Reddit discussions. What could these fibers possibly consist of? Disgusting either way, particularly given what compounding costs.

Pharmacies that can't even be bothered to filter properly. Somebody ought to hand them the beginners guide. SMH my head.

My guess is they're capping the vials somewhere exposed to open air, or that's how it looks. Aren't they supposed to work under a hood, or in a negative pressure space, so debris can't drift around and fall into the vials before the caps go on?

A person representing that pharmacy started a lengthy thread to apologize, and they're requesting that anyone impacted ship their vials in for testing. Refunds or replacements were offered to all patients, though I suspect the replacement option isn't appealing to many. To put it mildly, this representative did not receive a warm reception.

If they can't even keep visible particles out of it... what does that tell you about whether it's sterile?

To me, that alone looks like a problem..

And suppose a filter could take out bacteria — what about whatever endotoxins might still be left..

All I can think is.. trash..

If it were me, I'd hang onto those vials. A class action could be headed that pharm's way. I've seen folks report getting sick

Funny enough, I'd been craving some before and after pics, so I headed over to the Reddit tirz compound sub…and wow, it's a MASSIVE deal!! Pretty wild to realize that going gray doesn't just cut costs — we're likely getting superior QC by mixing it ourselves and sending it for testing!

Take me: I've got two cats, and one is a fluffy medium hair whose fur ends up absolutely EVERYWHERE, yet not once has a cat hair made its way into my vials!

From what I hear, they've also got some strange loose crimps. I'd be furious if I paid that much for medication and found mystery hair in it.

If it were me, I'd ask for a refund, wipe them off like something stuck to my shoe, and call it finished.... 😳 😳
