Huberman flags the tanning peptide: you tan from the inside, with huge jumps in energy and libido, and dramatic fat loss

Free to use under the Unsplash LicenseOn the a16z podcast, neuroscientist Andrew Huberman talked about peptides, sleep technology and where obesity treatment is heading. Along the way he covered peptides generally, and melanotan in particular. He first brought it up while listing...

At this stage, the danger of skin cancer appears to be purely theoretical.. yet that form of cancer is frightening

You may want to check out this section:

“For men, there’s a risk of priapism—which, well, could be the final erection you ever experience. It might persist for eight hours, but that could be the last one you ever get. Nerves and penile tissues can be harmed.“

Yeah, that one is terrifying. I bet BPC-157 could take care of it 😄

😳

Are there any scientifically supported numbers for how often this occurs?

Every one of them describes it as uncommon, but still—what if... You end up being that "uncommon" case...

As soon as I hit "the last erection you may ever have", any urge to drop a joke reply vanished. That line surely sat in the headline, and plenty of folks never make it past that point!

Looking into those reports of a guy ending up with an erection that wouldn't quit, my take is that either the amount taken was absurd or the vials came from the black market with unknown concentration.

This guy put 6mg 😲 into his body all at once.

.
Just what you'd figure: "I want it all, but all is not enough!"

Rare case studies come with a big drawback: you can't really pin down all the surrounding circumstances. Melanotan II could genuinely have been the culprit — yet it's equally plausible that using it had nothing to do with what happened.

Take this comparison: certain individuals end up killed in a car crash after they've taken a cross-country flight. A physician might publish that as a case study titled "fliers went on to die in a fatal car crash." Maybe the plane ride had zero connection to the later collision. Maybe instead it altered the person somehow, leaving them less focused and making a crash more likely. A case study simply can't tell you which.

I'm not saying this shouldn't worry anyone. My point is only that case studies and clinical trial side effects are not the same kind of evidence. With a case study, you're dealing with a maybe. With clinical trial side effects, the risk is on much firmer ground.

If you're worried about those side effects, go with MT1 rather than 2—it has far fewer sides by comparison.

I've been looking into Melanotan 2. Some color did show up, though less than I'd hoped for. Worth mentioning too: my natural complexion is extremely pale — practically glowing in the dark. As a woman, I saw no shifts in libido or sexual function. What I did notice was that freckles and moles I'd never been aware of became very obvious all at once. On top of that, old scars and past skin injuries that had faded long ago started showing up again as darker patches. These days I use it once a week as maintenance. I'll keep going through the summer, but if my skin tone doesn't even out, it will likely come out of my rotation.

Strange as it may sound, I came across someone mentioning they use glutathione alongside MT2 to make the resulting shade more uniform. Since neither of those compounds is something I have researched myself, I have no firsthand experience to share, but I figured it was worth mentioning in case you want to inquire about it or dig deeper. All the best!

I gave MT2 a try in a small dose.

Sex drive went up only slightly, but I got erections that came on without warning and were very firm.

During a UK winter, with zero sunbed sessions, I built up a baseline tan quite fast.

Roughly 60 minutes after injecting 1 mg, I did 1 sunbed session lasting 6 mins, and the change was noticeable.

The tan had a natural, even appearance.

That said, I still have 8 vials I have never touched and will leave alone, plus 1 partly used vial that is going in the bin.

In my own case, a handful of dark freckles showed up fairly quickly, and I have no interest in ending up with more.

Appreciate it — I'll look into the details, might try it out. That's the whole point of doing research 👍🏻

I use this peptide and I'm a big fan, but here's the catch. The starting dose is 100mcg, kept there for several days, then bumped to 150mcg for several more days. After that you move up to 250mcg. The whole ramp takes about 2 weeks. You don't go past 250. From there, it's just once or twice weekly. That protocol delivers solid results.

What's the deal with some folks? 2mg? 6mg? Americans are a mess. Nobody can stop at 1 beer or 1 glass of wine. Cocaine isn't enough, so they cook up crack. Not 1 slice of pizza, but the entire pie.

I can tell all of you that 250mcg will have you wearing out your wife or girlfriend in bed, and I'm 64yo.

Those 2 guys had it coming when they lost their pecker privileges.

Couldn't have put it better, man.

Does "the last erection you'll ever have" amount to a Reddit karma farming tale, or is it genuine?
