I'm curious what starting dose of reta everyone here used, and how many pounds came off during the first 1-2 months. As for me, I've gone beyond 3 weeks at 2mg per week and dropped roughly 11lbs.

Seems like you're a super responder — at low starting doses, the majority drop 1 to 1 1/2 per week

Update: Turns out it's 13 lbs. I'm now at 151 lbs, down from 164. My strength hasn't decreased, but I get worn out easily, so I figure my muscle mass is maintained while my stamina has taken a big hit.

I've started taking ritalin and wellbutrin for ADHD not long ago, so my appetite is suppressed quite a bit by those too, and that might be contributing to the weight I've dropped

Hmm, that is quite intriguing. I never considered Ritalin could play a role in shedding pounds? Perhaps it adds some extra capacity to concentrate? Or might there be a synergistic interaction?

I'm not using Reta, but Tirz has worked really well for me. The first week I dropped 6lbs, then 3lbs per week over the following 6 weeks, and it has clearly leveled off by now—just 1 to 1.5 a week for several more weeks. I'm reluctant to increase my dose (right now at 7.5) though I might need to. Nearly 40 lbs down in 75 days.

I put in serious effort. A very health-conscious diet, tracking calories with an app, an hour at the gym 6 days/week, and yet every night I still go to bed fighting the urge to raid the fridge! All I can figure is that the Tirz supplies the smallest amount of additional willpower, or maybe serves as the anchor around which my self-diagnosed ADHD and all this effort orbit, aiming at a successful result?

For context, my Dr prescribed Ozempic 2 years ago, and I actually ended up gaining weight. And because my med plan won't cover weight loss drugs, it was very expensive, and I quit after a month.

Definitely no synergy with that stuff!

I'm on Mounjaro (Tirz) and have dropped 25kg/55lbs starting from Oct 2025. I still need to shed another 20kg before reaching 85kg/187lbs.

I've shed 25lbs. My reta journey began on 02/02 with a 2mg dose. About 48 hours after that, I got a tough education on portion sizes and how slowly the stomach empties. Across the next 3 weeks, I stepped down to 1.2mg, then worked my way up to 1.6mg, and this week I made a full 1mg increase to reach 2.5mg.

I did 4 weeks at 2mg, then moved up to 4mg and stayed there another 4 weeks. At the 8-week mark, I've dropped roughly 22lbs, which comes to about 2.75lbs/week on average. Tomorrow morning I'll take 1 more 4mg dose, and after that I'm switching to 5mg. That means this vial has two 5mg doses left in it.

A month's worth like that sounds like a lot to me, but honestly I don't have the expertise to say.

Same here. Two days in, I got hit with that rough lesson, and it handed me roughly a 9.5lb jump start I never wanted. No complaints from me, though. Even so, the scale keeps dropping around 3lbs each week. Every time I step on to weigh, I also track my muscle mass, and other than losing some muscle during that first week, things have stayed fairly stable 🤷

Could you elaborate on what exactly that "hard lesson" involved? I've just taken my initial 1mg dose, and my usual approach to losing weight is fasting punctuated by big meals (plus I sip homemade electrolyte water all day and take vitamins/supps). I'm unsure whether doing that while on reta is a mistake or not

I didn't realize how quickly peptides start working, so on the evening of day 2 after my initial dose I had a very big dinner plus 2.5 oranges. On top of that, omeprazole had been prescribed to me, and that by itself delays digestion. I'd also had a seltzer water late that afternoon. Everything stacked together, and for 3 days straight I had diarrhea without a break. The sort you get when prepping for a colonoscopy. The nausea was so bad that all I could manage was a tiny bit of broth. Nearly 3 days passed before solid food was possible for me again. But that's just my experience. The oranges were because I felt constipated, and normally 1 1/2 oranges does the trick for me. It'll be a while before oranges are on my plate again.

Began on the 17th with 1mg of Tirz (wanted to start low and confirm tolerance), then moved to 1.67, after that chose to switch to Reta on Saturday at .5 (again low to confirm). Eating very well and so far down only 3lbs (yes, I realize these are low doses). Next step is increasing to 1mg Reta. I have 50lbs to lose, so it's time to start moving up!

I wanted to answer this post straight away, but I'm not sure I managed to do that correctly

Down 92lbs by the 6 1/2 month mark. Still 25 left to shed!

What's the trick behind that? Such an incredible number!!

Last month I began tirzepatide and dropped from 206 down to 192 within that month. Now I've moved over to Retatrutide, taking 2mg per week, to find out how that works out

That's a bit alarming. A study just came out that tracked what happens when people stop GLP-1s once they hit their maintenance weight, and on average they regained 65-70% of what they'd lost by the 12-month mark. So does that mean injecting forever?

My intention is to stay on a maintenance dose permanently

On rTirz, the first 30 weeks brought a 42lbs drop - by the 30 week mark my dose was 12mg rTirz every 7 days

Across 49 weeks, the overall loss came to 55lbs

I realize this means committing for life; I'll be digging into a lot of research to figure out my dosing and schedule for the long haul, more to come...
