How do I get rid of the 'no source discussion' next to my name?

It really boils down to interaction within the forums and number of posts to weed out the bots and trolls. Zip's got a tough job having to weed through some of our stupid noob questions and the super geniuses who like to proclaim, "Google is your friend"...yeah, well F off, he ain't mine. 😱 🤡 I confess to pointing this forum out to some on Rabbit who were getting nowhere and a lot of us came here specifically to seek out HONEST GREY Market sources ( affordability and all ) so it became a flood of "Where do I, Who do I " posts from noobs, hence the restrictions. Engagement is key. You'll notice a LOT of posts are from noobs as some of us learned what we needed and don't engage as much anymore...but we lurk in the shadows...🫡🥸

Dude, if all the Reddit comes here, and this resembles Reddit, I will have to give up. Please thread carefully.

I've pretty mentioned this indirectly regarding a bunch and there's a bunch who recently joined. But some of their dribble is too much. The terrible advise, plain BS, how they do stuff is the right way and try to correct them, nope. I'm past trying to argue with people who have the mentality of a 8 year old. I've been on forum for 23 years and never put anyone on ignore, but I have put a bunch on ignore here. Rant over

So much this. I see a thread I may be able to offer some support in but when I start reading thru it the poster with question is arguing and standing 10 toes down on false information. I don't even reply, just back out and go to something else

I need to learn to use the ignore feature. I try to be a kind person but sometimes the closed minded, know everything, not willing to learn egos of some of the recent newbies makes me irrationally angry and a little sad for them.

Slow process it seems but I'm too busy to say much unfortunately. One day I'll lose the training wheels 😕 😂

Ah mate I thought I have my scarlet letter for a while but you are even older! One day.

Oh, there's more I need to add. It's just easier than playing 1st grade teacher in a class of rotten kids.

Not sure that is the way. I've been here forever, posting, interacting, and still have the badge of shame.

Look at the join dates and amount of post and likes my some. Liking and getting likes helps too. Heck, I had the No Source banner for quite a while. It'll go away

Yeah, but Zippy said something you posted was a no-no and was removed.

Yep, 18 posts in almost 4 months for him and not staying active doesn't help.

Definitely been lurking for at least 4 months, but I'd be shocked if I joined more than a couple months ago.

I don't like the idea of flooding the forum with posts but it's understandable that the mods want to get an idea of who ppl are before taking the training wheels off them.

Brilliant!

Let's draw a map for the scammers and spammers who are the reason the restrictions exist in the first place so they can more easily circumvent them.

P.S. If you're running into issues with certain words and phrases, the problem is what you are trying to post, not the restricted words and phrases.

That's a good point, regarding not letting ppl know the flagged language.

I'm going to have to stand up for my post attempts though. My response prior to this one was constantly getting blocked, but I finally managed to post something almost identical. I just had to keep replacing words until I found out it was the word most closely associated with a famous tinned meat product that was getting flagged. I completely understand the need for the banner! It's a good idea! But when almost every response I write requires multiple attempts in order to find the random word that the bot doesn't like, it gets old, fast.

I really do want to get involved in more conversations but I often have to give up and instead just give a thumbs up.

I had the same problem at first but I figured it out like you. It's a process.

Funny, I was literally reading through this feed while commenting on a couple other threads and suddenly realized my Glp1 novice designation changed to apprentice. Must’ve just happened cause I checked on it after noticing your post this morning. Keep at it it’ll change. 👍🏻

Sometimes it is best to slow down and read the tea leaves-

In some cases the answers are less cryptic.

The guy who made the rules did, in fact, tell you what your potential issues were.

P.S. If you're running into issues with certain words and phrases, the problem is what you are trying to post, not the restricted words and phrases.

Yeah, that doesn't seem right. May be something for @ZippityDooDah to look at. Unless you broke some rules in the past and got put in the doghouse for some reason, you should have advanced awhile ago. The system is one of those things where 'its the worst system except for every other system out there'. In other words, its not perfect and its a PIA sometimes, but its better than any of the alternatives.

To be fair, Reddit bio hacking subs led me to Discord which then led me here. I’m very grateful that it did!

(But now that I’m here, I’m very snooty and am like “Begone you Reddit plebs! Learn to search, you lazy wastrels! A pox on your gym bro “science” and all those who believe without research! 🤣)

Yeah, it's not always the words that are causing the issues. Sometimes it's the approach...If the road signs are telling you hazard zone and you are not applying the brakes, it's going to be a long bumpy ride....YMMV
