We all went through that. Just post and "like" and it'll eventually go away.

Are new members getting that quote as a post these days and still not reading those sections?

It would be encouraging to hear that, but even more disheartening that so many still refuse to click on the links and review the material.

I'm sorry, I'm daft. What about the timestamp? I looked at their activity and they were posting alot, within the same hr half of their comments were in chinese.

My brain isn't clicking this morning, help me understand

Mate, I've read it multiple times. It doesn't matter what I post. 90% of the time I get that pop-up. I've followed the rules to the tee, but it still pops up almost every time. There's no rhyme or reason to it.

It clearly has a whole boatload of keywords that automatically set it off. I just wish they provided us with said keywords.

That account seems to be having "technical difficulties", so someone else must have noticed that the [Location: USA] member was posting at ~3:45 am US Eastern Standard Time. Which is not entirely implausible on its own. But.

I believe that pop-up is a new feature, probably in recent months. I'm glad to see that it's there now helping people find the links.

But still, you're not even up to 30 posts* -- I'm not sure I have often seen the banner removed for under 20 posts. It takes a while to get out of the Intro section to begin with.

(*IIRC I was up to about 40 posts before I graduated from the banner.)

For a time new posters are limited in how many they can post in a set amount of time.

Occasionally you will see an outlier with over 70 or 100 posts still with the banner. Usually you can detect something's off; could be lots of things -- stealth vendor talk, being argumentative, post whoring, link begging, irresponsible AI use...

There are many inappropriate posts we don't see because of quick Mod deletion. Probably lots of things behind the scenes most of us have no idea about.

Just keep on keeping on and one day the banner will be gone 🙂
 
Shit i was out of newb jail relatively fast. I think i had one screw up where i said something slightly out of line and deleted it that second. But otherwise i maybe commented on a half dozen interesting threads a day with thoughtful or humorous dialog and was in gen pop with the rest of these looneys QUICK. Just dont act like a bot and mingle.

Look at the join dates and amount of post and likes my some. Liking and getting likes helps too. Heck, I had the No Source banner for quite a while. It'll go away

Yep, 18 posts in almost 4 months for him and not staying active doesn't help.
 
You got some flavor sent at ya. Honestly, I found it offensive and childish when I first joined. After a little time, I am convinced that the restriction is needed. Maybe not in your case, but, for sure, the majority I. Which I would classify me in. I would suggest to "suck it up" and just interact as much as you can. Don't be butt hurt, like I was. Just appreciate the initiation that is a protection. Or, not to be a smart ass, you can find another forum. Just weather the storm. So many good, hearted, knowledgeable, and good intent, people here. Stay motivated!

Let's draw a map for the scammers and spammers who are the reason the restrictions exist in the first place so they can more easily circumvent them.

P.S. If you're running into issues with certain words and phrases, the problem is what you are trying to post, not the restricted words and phrases.

Eh. I wondered that when I was new to this place too. You can find pretty much whatever you’re looking for with the restriction still. Just can’t comment on some post is all wich ain’t no big thing. Saves yourself some time and effort in the end!
 
It really boils down to interaction within the forums and number of posts to weed out the bots and trolls. Zip's got a tough job having to weed through some of our stupid noob questions and the super geniuses who like to proclaim, "Google is your friend"...yeah, well F off, he ain't mine. 😱 🤡 I confess to pointing this forum out to some on Rabbit who were getting nowhere and a lot of us came here specifically to seek out HONEST GREY Market sources ( affordability and all ) so it became a flood of "Where do I, Who do I " posts from noobs, hence the restrictions. Engagement is key. You'll notice a LOT of posts are from noobs as some of us learned what we needed and don't engage as much anymore...but we lurk in the shadows...🫡🥸
