Where did your current understanding of GLP1s and the other peptides people use come from? Before all this, the only things I knew were whatever you'd pick up about Ozempic and similar, and I was aware compounding pharmacies existed, but I had no clue they produced analogs until my doctor brought them up and mentioned they work for losing weight. From that point on I was figuring it out by myself (no longer supervised by him), and I had to hunt down which combination looked best (I went with tirz), which dosing schedule to use (I turned to Reddit but burned a lot of time filtering out garbage), and then where to buy once my compounding pharmacy ran out only 1 month after I began. I came across some gray markets that undercut what the compounder charged and definitely beat the EL and friends price, though they were way above what you've shown me here.

So --- how did you pick up the ropes, and from where? How do you go about deciding who and what deserves trust, since that seems like a huge piece of what we're all doing?

I don't have faith in anybody, lol.

Not long after I'd talked over rx retail with my PCP, I was chatting with someone I know.

When I brought it up with her, she passed along the number for her CN contact. I hung around in that WA group for a while. Came across this place. Came across additional groups. Checked out a few YT vids. Posed questions. Then more questions. Read further. More questions. Read further. Dug through these forums. Read further. Asked more. Once my first order showed up I panicked. All the stuff I'd gone through I couldn't bring back to mind. Needed YT to figure out how to recon. Whenever something comes up I keep posing questions and digging through these forums. I came across other resources. People steered me.

Best single resource I was offered? Calc dot injection shop dot com

Understanding dosage and vial strength had me totally stuck. That calculator laid it out for me in a way that clicked completely. It also has custom mass which is great for over/under product.

Best direction given to me: Use the highest mass number to calculate dosage units. It's the safest way to go to ensure you're not overdosing. I'd rather under dose a smidge than over.

Welcome!

Edited for typo and clarity.

Appreciate the reply. I get that figuring out dosing trips up a lot of folks, but since our work involves concentrations, dilutions, and mixing up vaccines and such, that side of things doesn't really faze me. What gets me is deciding how much to take, across what period, and which people's accounts to believe --- or is it really about collecting those accounts and then following whichever one shows up most often?

Also, I'm still getting used to some of the shorthand, though I can work out the majority. For instance, CN? My assumption is that refers to a country?

Semaglutide was my starting point, and during that first month I dropped a few lbs, then nothing more. Another 5 months went by with me still on it, shelling out $500 each month. Once I learned about Reta and began digging into the trials and how reconstitution works, that led me down a path of looking into other peptides too. Nights and weekends have gone into hours-long stretches of searching and reading, all so I could be as informed as possible. These days I know enough to handle what I want with the peps that interest me, though my research happened one peptide at a time. Expert? Not by a long shot. But my BS filter is finely tuned, and I know what to avoid, which is half the battle.

For me, getting into peptides was a chance to revisit the biology degree I'd earned years ago and really nerd out.

I simply kept reading—more and more—about different peptides. How they act in the body, the reasons they're effective, which studies exist, plus I take in a great deal of anecdotal information.

Podcasts are part of my routine, though I try to steer clear of the drama...a few podcasters have intense fan bases and equally intense critics...I stay out of that. I just listen and learn.

After that, I look into things on my own, figure out what looks like the best route to take, and then observe...My guess is that most folks in this area are bigger risk takers than the typical person, but honestly, for me it's been working like a charm. I no longer take any of my pharmaceuticals

CN = China

When it comes to dosage, you're 10 steps ahead of where I am. LOL

My approach: I'd look up whatever pep caught my interest, plus Dosing Protocol.

Conservative is how I lean. Branded Sema was what I started on, so I stuck with that dosing schedule until I quit and accepted that I'd hit the ceiling on rx. After that I switched to Tirz, since it's approved and I want to keep an honest dialogue with my PCP about my health. Where it's coming from is not something he needs to know. Compounded would not make him happy. But paying retail rx prices is beyond what I'm willing to spend.

Reta is the pick for a lot of people. In the US, it's next in line for approval. Popularity is very high.

One tip worth sharing... no matter which GLP you go with, there's no requirement to bump the dosage up just because some matrix out there tells you to titrate every 4 weeks. Squeeze the most runway out of each dosage level. Choosing an older - and still incredibly effective - product is another runway argument. Your starting point and your goals matter too.

Naturally, ymmv. Take what you need and leave the rest.

When it comes to education, I stick with trustworthy, well-regarded sources that cite scientific evidence. Regarding dosage, I never take any website at face value. Pep-pedia is a resource I check, but I ALWAYS verify any dose listed there before relying on it.

Solid answer — that calculator is really nice.

Aren't these compounds also classified as pharmaceuticals? It's just that we came across more potent drugs that work better for treating our conditions.

Any podcasts worth recommending? I spend a fair amount of time behind the wheel and I'm always after decent listens — not the rubbish influencer-driven ones that are everywhere.

My answer would be affirmative.

Once I'd spent a few months on brand-name product, followed by a few on a compounded version, I started digging in and reading quietly. I went through a huge amount of material, chasing down whatever I could locate in AMA threads, research studies, journals, and so on. That path eventually had me quietly reading and absorbing anecdotal accounts across 4 platforms (this one was 1 of the 4 I read without posting). I steered clear of rabbit entirely, since it struck me as a school yard. Of those 4 platforms I'd been reading, I went ahead and joined 3, given that I'm not really a social media type. Once I'd joined those 3, I picked up TG. I gave DC a shot, but it's clunky and nukes often. Finding servers again is too much of a pain in the crapper. TG got on my nerves at first, though I've since gotten used to it. I read constantly, far more than I post. What I noticed was that every platform I joined had something useful to offer, each in its own different way.

Let me pull up my list...I do follow a few well-known figures, but I also enjoy some smaller channels that, despite their size, put out solid interviews...it feels like nearly everyone is pushing a product or tied to a company as an affiliate — not to say their information isn't useful, but it definitely makes things more of a slog.

I feel exactly the same way - whenever "Athletic Greens" comes up (or whatever the 2026 equivalent turns out to be ......), I can't help but roll my eyes. Right away it gives me the impression that they're pushing an agenda and just shilling, whether or not that's actually true.

My perspective is a bit different...though strictly speaking, I'd say you're right.

When I talk about pharmaceuticals in that sense, I mean medications that push my body into doing something without actually resolving the underlying problem. Take nerve pain as an example...duloxetine was prescribed to me, and it did bring relief, yet it never addressed the inflammation, and it brought along plenty of side effects, among them intense withdrawal symptoms once I stopped.

With peptides, my body was able to heal, and I've managed to leave behind the standard allopathic pharma drugs that were never getting at the root cause. I can stop peptides without going through withdrawals (at least every one I've tried), and as far as the nerve pain goes, I remain pain free. There may come a time when I need to deal with it again...but for now, at least, that awful duloxatine is out of my life.

My entry point was online weight-loss care, where I got a Zepbound prescription. A close friend of mine happens to be a physician, and he was the one who pointed me toward specific peptides—first to counter muscle loss, and later to support recovery. I'm fairly open with my own doctor and share almost all of it with him.

Since I'm not comfortable self-medicating, I stick strictly to whatever my friend recommends, and only after he's gone over my blood work and how I'm progressing.

For a really thorough exploration, this channel works well - though I need him to pace himself, since his mind moves quickly and he talks at a speed that outruns my ability to absorb it 😆. https://www.youtube.com/@alexkikelTPC/featured

At Christmas, I caught my son discussing peptides with my daughter — neither of them uses them. My daughter-in-law gets Tirzepatide via an insurance arrangement. I questioned him about it, and he brought up Reta, saying he could obtain it. After a massive amount of reading and research, I went ahead and ordered two 10ml vials, for myself and my wife. He sourced them for us, and the results came on almost right away, which made us happy. Giving injections wasn't a problem — I've done plenty over the years for one of my dogs. For the first ones, he actually supervised, since he works as a paramedic. It was while researching that I came across this place, and I'm sure as heck glad I did.

Sorting through all of this is tough...it feels like just about everyone has a product to push.

That doesn't automatically mean their input has no value, but I never forget the thought "there's a sales angle here."

With no particular ranking, these are the ones I tune into...I absorb what they say, dig deeper on my own, and in the end, as I think most people do, I go with whatever fits my own situation.

Dr. Ashley Froese

JD Denhem

Taylor Williams

Josh Holyfield

Dr Tyna Moore

Dr Kristi Sawicki

Dr. Nathalie Niddham

Dr Michael Moeller

Jason Schuster

Dr Trevor Bachemeyer

Jay Campbell

Hunter Williams

Regan Archibald

Joy Kong

Dr Greg Jones

On the Pen

Doctor Michael Mueller

Peptide Critic

I'm not putting my stamp of approval on any of them, only saying that I give them a listen and keep or discard whatever I can use....after which I go look into things further. A lot of the time I enjoy hearing them out because they're covering a peptide I'm not familiar with and I'm curious to learn, and it works as a starting point whenever I decide to dig deeper.

A few come across as harsh or clearly pushing their own interests, yet there's still useful material there.

If I absolutely had to name a favorite from that list, it would likely be Dr Ashley Froese...she's amusing, blunt and has a personality I click with.,as well Nathalie Niddam..but that isn't really the main point.
