Hey everyone,

I've been lurking and reading posts for a bit, and finally decided to join. Based in the UK, I'm not carrying huge amounts of extra weight, but my body fat has plateaued at 22% even though my training is fairly solid (lifting 4-5x/week, protein intake is decent). I prepare my own meals and have cut out all the sugary foods!! 💪

My goal is to get down to 12% so I look leaner, while keeping the muscle I've already built.

I'm considering retatrutide (reta) because of its fat-loss strength (I've read the glucagon component may assist with recomp), and adding something like opimrolen (or ostarine?) to preserve/protect gains while cutting.

Has anyone here run something similar – reta alone or combined for body recomp? What has helped you lower BF% like that without strength crashing? Any dosing advice, side effects, or UK shipping stories are welcome too.

Cheers, excited to chat!

Hi,

Happy New year!

Thanks for getting back to me and for the guidance! Honestly, I've spent close to a week browsing this forum already! Plenty of useful stuff can be found here. However, I realised that direct replies and joining discussions aren't open to you until you post, so here I am introducing myself.

I've dabbled with juice in the past, though it's been many years since I stopped and these days I train clean. Testosterone isn't a problem for me either, since I never went overboard with gear and PCT was always done properly afterwards.

Ozempic and similar things have been on my radar for years, but I never gave it serious thought. That changed when a colleague brought it up. Up until then, my habits were shifting gradually — cooking my own meals for work, cutting back on sweets, and so on. Still, a small push was all I needed to continue toward my goal of ideally 12–14% body fat.

Your age wasn't mentioned, but based on what you've described, I'd assume consistent mitochondrial problems aren't part of your situation. With proper nutrition, hydration/electrolytes, protein intake (which you brought up before), sufficient rest, and ongoing resistance training, etc., Reta by itself would probably deliver great results for your body recomposition goals. That said, for body recomp I discovered what felt like an almost magical synergy when combining Reta with Mots-C. Energy levels can drop and gym intensity can suffer when using Reta alone. Mots-C may assist with those energy problems and can also enhance insulin sensitivity.

For my own part, I prefer a low and slow approach when adding new substances, so I can tell what's helping and what isn't and properly link side effects to the right cause. I gave it a month on Reta before adding Mots-C, and with hindsight, I wouldn't have delayed the Mots. If anything, Mots would have been my starting point. My first month in the gym on Reta alone was essentially wasted while I figured out the right dosage and managed the "sides". When Reta's effects hit, some people can't decide whether to shit or go blind and quit before the benefits even begin. Don't let that be you.

After 3 months on Reta and 2 months on Mots together, here's where I stand: down ~22 pounds, significant body fat loss, more energy in and out of the gym, stronger with greater work capacity (mostly a kettlebell and bodyweight lifter here). I feel good and people look up when I walk into a room again. As you explore the peptide space, there's a reason you'll keep seeing Reta and Mots discussed as a pair. Shit works.

Others might have tried different tools that worked for them, and I'm looking forward to reading those comments too.

Hi mate,

Cheers! I'm in my 30's and I believe this isn't something I deal with. Appreciate you getting back to me and telling me about how reta and the other things you add have helped you keep your energy up. That's something I hadn't thought about before, but I'll check into it.

Actually, I had been considering pairing reta with ipamorelin no dać and bpc 157. I'm still weighing up other possibilities.

It really helps that you've told me your story and what did the job for you!

It's nice to hear about different stacks from folks who've genuinely been through it by running various peptides together with reta.

Thanks once more! 💪
