Hello everyone, I'm new here!

First off, a big thank you to the forum admin for putting together such a useful resource.

On the topic of worries about freezer defrost cycles, I thought I'd share some information. I store a few vials of GLOW inside a thermos flask along with a desiccant sachet, and that flask sits in a modern UK freezer that runs a cycle roughly three times per day. The swings in temperature are minimal — the data logger is placed inside the flask. The chart below covers only 2-3 days, but a full week of readings looks much the same. This is an ordinary freezer rather than a dedicated one, so it gets opened often as well. Just sharing in case it's of interest, thanks!

Welcome aboard! That's an interesting point.

What kind of setup are you using to record the readings? Can it connect externally so it alerts you when temperatures drift outside the safe range?

Freezer cycling worries me as well, so I'm planning to buy a small dedicated non-frost-free unit to store my peps.

It's only a temperature logger I got from amazon, nothing fancy, though it is certified. If needed, I can share the link. You set it up through USB with a windows app, then simply place it back in the freezer. I've configured it to monitor at 30 second intervals, which is likely a bit excessive. Temperature variations worried me as well, but hopefully this data proves useful.
