HI GLP1Chat,

I'm a guy from downunder, 40 years old, M, standing 6"2 and tipping the scales at 135kg, which puts me in the medically obese category.

Back when I was younger, I was really fit and highly competitive in sports — at my peak competitive weight I was 105kg. I trained constantly and my 50m sprint time was under 2.5 seconds (explosive).

Marriage and kids are what shifted things over that period. I'm not trying to make excuses — I simply let myself go and got lazy.

Food and I have had a toxic relationship, and it's been my achillies heel. I've never been much of a drinker, I just really love food.

The thing that pushed me to act was being turned away when I tried to donate blood because my blood pressure was too high. On top of that, I was starting to get planta facia and my knees were creaking whenever I walked up stairs (all from my weight).

That was the point where it hit me: if I don't do somwthing to get my health under control, I won't be around to watch my kids grow up. The early warning signs are already here for me. I've tried many diets before, but my inability to put a meal down and say I'm finished never registered with me — I'd always be thinking about the next meal and what I'd eat. It consumed my whole day and made me.less productive.

My wife has type 1 diebetic and she told me about ozempic and how it stops food noise. I laughed at her and thought it was all BS. She was on it and lost 25kg over 2 years.

That's when I decided I needed to look into this more to stop my food. So here I am today — my goal is to get below 100kg, get my blood.prrssure back to normal, and get rid of the planta facia and joint pain.l all because of being obese.

More than anything, I'm doing this so I can see my kids grow up, and because I don't want to die young.
