Hi everyone, my name is Avion and I'm in the UK. I've joined to find out more about peptides and how to use them most effectively in my own case, both for weight loss and to clear up my health problems. I'm looking forward to learning from the experienced members here. I've been on Tirz for about 6 months and am now thinking about moving over to Reta. Thx

Knowing your current Tirz dose in mg would be useful.

Also, going fully over to Reta alone isn't something I'd suggest. When it comes to appetite suppression, Tirz is far stronger than Reta. Quite a few members here combine Reta with Tirz. My own stack is 6mg of Reta plus 1mg of Cag, and if I drop the Cag, the Reta barely blunts my appetite, even though I inject twice weekly. (Split dosing)

The standard Reta schedule starts at 2mg, then 4mg, 8mg, and tops out at 12mg.

You can go below 2mg, like .5mg or 1mg each week, and that did work for me for a stretch and made the sides easier while I was titrating up.

It'd be worth searching these forums for how others run Reta and Tirz (unless someone else comments here).

Still, if you simply move from Tirz to Reta, chances are you'll end up going back to Tirz. Honestly, once I hit my goal body weight I'll likely move to Tirz for maintenance.

But I wouldn't make a cold turkey switch, particularly when you're bringing in another receptor. Perhaps try adding .5mg of Reta to see how you tolerate it, and consider tapering the Tirz down if you're on the higher doses?

canninball3, that is genuinely helpful guidance! Based on what I have come across, shifting from Tirz to Reta can make food noise a bigger problem, so tapering Tirz down while bringing Reta in step by step seems wiser than doing the whole swap in one go.

Hello, I had been taking 5mg Mounjaro. Over six months I dropped roughly 10 kg. I paused Mounjaro for about 6 weeks, and I've now begun Reta at 2mg. I'm in my 2nd week and the appetite suppression is excellent. Hunger isn't an issue for me... I'd say it works better for me than Mounjaro did, and I've had no side effects at all.

Glad to have you here.

It's curious that 2mg of reta suppresses your appetite more than 5mg of mounjaro does (though maybe you simply hadn't titrated up yet).

I'd go with the old saying 'if it works, don't change it' — in other words, there's no reason to add an amylin agonist, pin more often, raise your reta dose, and so on.

Which other 'health issues' are you hoping to address?

Do you think the cag is a game changer? I've been thinking about whether to add it to my own routine.

I'm feeling worn out, and my hair has been shedding a lot too...the hair loss only began recently. On top of that I'm dealing with the full range of menopausal symptoms, hot flushes and the rest. My cholesterol is high as well, though I'm not taking anything for it. My hope is that dropping some weight will bring my cholesterol levels down.

That was my experience, yes. Though I do notice something odd: roughly an hour after dosing I get drowsy, so these days I schedule the shot about an hour ahead of bedtime and sleep better for it. Turns out it also counters that Reta effect of keeping me awake at night, ha.

How I'd put it with Cag is that it mostly gives you that stuffed, overate feeling, whereas on Reta I simply don't feel like eating as much — yet I could still overeat if I chose to. (don't ask how I found that out)

Splitting my Reta into two shots per week eases the side effects quite a bit, but as injection day approaches the food noise starts creeping back and that's when I can slip up. Cag carries me through to the next injection day so food noise and overeating aren't on my mind. Honestly, if I pushed Reta to 8mg or beyond I might not need it at all, but 6+1 is my sweet spot.

Since it's working, I'll likely keep going. The only drawback is pinning 4 times a week, though I've found it gives me more control. Apart from the drowsiness on Cag, I've had no other side effects compared with Reta. So if titration becomes necessary, I'd gladly raise Cag before Reta.
