Hi everyone! RockyMountainGirl here, posting from Colorado's Front Range. 🏔️

Maybe "Girl" isn't quite the right word for me — I'm closer to the older end of the age spectrum.

Weight has been a battle for me ever since my child was born 13 years ago. I made several attempts to lose the post-pregnancy weight and each one fell short, so eventually I turned to medical help. In 2024 I had bariatric surgery (gastric sleeve). Unfortunately, the results were limited. During the first 3 months after the operation I dropped 35 pounds, and then everything came to a halt. Permanently. I was counting calories, staying hydrated, getting enough protein, exercising, and consulting both my doctor and a nutritionist. None of it made a difference. It left me feeling really discouraged. That's what pushed me to start researching GLPs.

Since I ran into the same insurance obstacles with GLPs that many others deal with, I chose the compounded option and went with tirzepatide through Telehealth. I took my first shot in July of '25, and the change has been truly remarkable.

Weight wasn't my only problem. I was also dealing with severe knee and foot pain that seriously limited how well I could get around. After beginning tirz, that pain has essentially vanished, which honestly astonishes me. My original goal was losing weight (↓54 so far; 79 altogether), but what made me fall in love with it is the anti-inflammatory effect it appears to have had on my body.

Beyond weight, gardening is my great passion. 🌱 I love starting plants from seed, and Mother's Day is something I look forward to each year since that's when I can finally get plants into the ground. A sun-warmed tomato straight off the vine is one of my absolute favorite things in the world.

I feel so lucky to have come across this forum. The rules make sense to me, and I'm eager to learn from everyone here who knows more and has more experience than I do.

Hello!

Your gardening skills make me green with envy. Any plant that gets close to me ends up dead, despite my affection for them and my strong wish that they would return the feeling.

RA is something I live with, and Tirz did seem to ease a portion of the pain, though less than I had hoped. My start date was Feb 2026, and so far I have dropped only about 15 lbs. Right now I am stuck in a stall. A higher dose seems necessary, yet the possibility of side effects scares me.

I've titrated up at a snail's pace for exactly that reason. In my case, bumping by 1 mg per step helped a ton when it came to keeping the side effects in check.

Oh, and every succulent that crosses my threshold still ends up dead. They're meant to be incredibly low-maintenance, yet I somehow always figure out a way to finish them off. 😆
