Hi, if reading my story isn't your thing, no problem—but if you scroll to the questions at the end and answer them, that would really help me and take a load off my mind. Thanks!
I'm just getting into grey peptides, though I spent roughly 1.5 years on brand-name Tirzepatide. My insurance was covering it, and I believed I'd finally figured out why weight loss and normal thoughts about food had always been out of reach for me. About 50lbs came off without much struggle, but coverage ended in the middle of 2024. I had a stash that kept me going for a while, and I also bought the very costly compounded version, which didn't work well. Who can keep paying $4-500 each month for something like that? Especially since the appetite suppression wasn't matching what I got from the brand name.
Feeling beaten, I stopped, and I've been off GLP's for most of 2025. During that time I've put back on around 30lbs. It's incredibly disheartening and feels hopeless. I do try to eat well, but the food noise and cravings are tough to resist, and I'm back at that point where losing weight and maintaining a healthy deficit seems impossible. Peptides from China always made me nervous, but after researching for the last few months I feel okay about beginning my Reta peptide journey.
I haven't gone fully grey yet, because I'm still anxious and can't manage $300 per test every month or so for samples—at that rate I'd be better off returning to compounds. So I bought a 10mg vial from a peptide company that has 3rd party COA's. From reading similar threads here and on Reddit, I know I'll catch criticism for this, but the price was low enough that I could justify it without feeling like I'd thrown money away, and I have enough peace of mind that I'm being safe.

3 - for dosing, my plan was to begin at 1mg for 3-4 weeks, then move to 2mg. That seems to be the general agreement, although some say .5mg works better. What about microdosing? I was thinking .5mg on a Monday/Thursday schedule.
I appreciate everyone who shares essential information and assistance on forums like this. Thanks!
