Hey there! Back in January 2025, I made the call to turn my life around. Researching is kind of my thing—maybe too much—so I plowed through loads of NIH papers about both Sema and Tirz for several months. In the end, I chose to "do things right." Since it looked like Tirz was giving people better outcomes, that's what I began with in February 2025.

My entry into the peptide world came about because the prescriber would occasionally add NAD+ to my Tirz compound. I'd never come across NAD+ before, and I was determined to understand exactly what I was injecting. So I went deep into research (see the pattern?), and I liked what I found. Even before I understood what NAD+ was doing, I noticed I felt improved when my Tirz included it. That pushed me to search on my own for a source with fairly priced NAD+ injections—and that search is what finally brought me here!

These days, I'm genuinely fascinated by peptides that influence neuron-to-neuron signaling, strengthen synapses, and promote the growth of new neurons; plus the possibility of extending telomeres through peptides. The science in these fields is looking really exciting at the moment, so I can't wait to see where things stand 10 years from now!

Glad you're here — I'm also just starting out, though I spent months reading along before finally making an account and posting. Always good to meet a fellow PNW researcher!

Seems like a good number of us hail from the PNW — hardy bunch, aren't we!

What benefits does NAD provide? It really catches me off guard whenever I see folks discussing it — they talk as if nothing could be better.

That's what I'm wondering as well...

Over on r/peptide source, I read that it was addictive 😬

In my case, NAD left me feeling “better.” Explaining it isn’t easy. Sleeping has always been a struggle for me, yet these days I sleep like a rock. Sometimes I can drift off even without my sleeping meds.

The main change I noticed once NAD+ was in my Tirz (and honestly I doubt the amount was large, LOL, since it came compounded with the Tirz) was a sense of being well-rested that stuck with me all day long. The effect was quite subtle, but it was pleasant not to hit the usual 3 pm crash, or to feel wiped out after spending a day around other people. I simply wasn’t exhausted constantly, which is an issue for me because of my ADD-I.

I wouldn’t call it the greatest thing ever; it just provides a subtle effect that offers me a bit of help.

As far as I know, NAD+ does not cause dependence. Nothing in the research literature I've gone through mentions it, and I do read peer-reviewed medical journals. It's hard for me to picture a doctor with a license handing that over without discussing potential risks first. Truthfully, it only appeared a handful of times in my Tirz during that particular month. I had no idea it was included, and I'd never come across it before. In other months, the compounding of my Tirz used glycine or methylcobalamine instead — neither of which poses problems for addiction or metabolic disruption.

Regardless, even if dependence were possible, NAD+ doesn't make me feel hooked, and I already take 2 highly addictive prescriptions for my ADD-I: amphetamine (Adderall) and alprazolam. My alprazolam rx is quite low, but my ADD is severe enough that I've hit the maximum daily Adderall dose. I've been on them for years. Meanwhile, miss a single night of my antidepressant, and the withdrawal hits hard. And it's awful.
