hi there! I'm a relatively new member—signed up last month—but I was wrapped up in finishing nursing school, so I didn't have time to say hello or poke around the site much until now. Now that I've officially passed my NCLEX and gotten my life back, I'm here trying to make sense of how everything works.

A bit about me: I'm a 45 year old female, 5'5", and my highest weight was around 217lbs. When I began GLP's I was right at 200lbs, but I haven't been at a weight I felt good about since roughly 1999. In 2024 I was fortunate to have tirzepetide covered by insurance for a while and got down to about 155lbs—then insurance cut it off, right after I'd finally gotten a taste of not feeling awful about myself for the first time in more than 2 decades. Once coverage ended I put 20 of those pounds back on, so I decided paying whatever I could was worth it to get that confidence back. That's when I switched to semaglutide (it was $100 cheaper and all I could swing while in school) through an overpriced doctor prescribed telahealth advertised on Facebook. But I discovered that on a GLP-1 I could hardly hold my current weight, let alone drop any, after having been on a GLP-2. So roughly six months ago I moved to retatrutide, which I'd come across through an Instagram promoter. At last I started losing again. I'm now only about 10lbs from my weight of 130. So I'm here to learn everything I can about doing this safely for the long term, since I've realized maintaining it is going to be a lifelong journey.

Kandi, glad to have you here — this is the right spot, and I believe you'll bring real value to this forum.

Congrats on clearing your NCLEX, plus the weight loss — and welcome!

Thanks! I'm aiming to get there once I've got the hang of everything haha

Were there any issues with loose skin in your case, and if there were, what approach did you take to manage it?

Thanks!
