I've joined to gather information and pick up knowledge from everyone in this community. At 38 years old, my goal is to shed 50-60lbs. Back in October 2024, a fantastic gym started up close to where I live, and from its opening day I've been working out there 3-4 days each week. My most recent successful weight loss happened in 2009, when I quit soda. Simply cutting it out entirely took off 30lbs.

Glad to have you here!

My ongoing metabolic syndrome issue, I attribute to the large amounts of soda I drank during the 1980s.

What makes the gym appealing to you? And which side of town is it on—Northside or South? I've got a friend who lives in Moore, and we frequently talk about how tough it is to get to the gym given everything else on our plates and how tired we are.

The place is called Crunch! Several of them are scattered around the city, but the north side branch I use opened back in October 2024 and is kept in superb condition. Every piece of equipment is new, and it gets wiped down on a regular basis. They never close — open 24/7 — so there's no excuse about the doors being shut or about to shut. Staffing is always solid and the crowd there is a proper melting pot.

Down in Arkansas, Crunch is my gym of choice! It works well for me, though a friend over in Moore thinks the Norman location and the ones in N. OKC are somewhat far to travel.
