Hey everyone, good morning!

For roughly 12 months I’d been casually reading up on peptides before I finally committed to really studying GLPs.

My first stop was Reddit, but I soon felt I needed straight talk from people whose experience and knowledge far exceeded mine. The platform’s limits made it tough to follow along without already knowing a pile of terms and abbreviations that had no definitions or explanations anywhere I looked. After searching further, I ended up here.

Since August 2024 I’ve been very committed to health and weight loss, and during that period I’ve dropped about 50lbs by keeping a calorie deficit and living more actively. I had promised myself (and told others) that GLP-1 or other peptides would never be a crutch for my weight loss—but honestly, that was simply how I admitted I didn’t know what they were, and that lack of knowledge frightened me. Now, nearly 2 years on, I’m reading and researching so I can make my own call on whether that’s the step I want to take to move closer to my final goal!

Great to meet you all!

Dropping 50lbs with no glp's is incredible, congrats. If you don't mind sharing, where did you start and what number are you aiming for? Since you laid that groundwork solo, do you plan to stay at a low dose instead of titrating upward? That's exactly what I've been doing with tirz and I'm loving it.

Thanks! Yeah, I plan to stay on a low reta dose to finish out my goal. I'm a 5'5" woman, began at 185-190 (quit stepping on the scale once it got bad), now at 140, aiming for 125.

How long have you kept your tirz dose the same?

Hello! Our route into peptides and GLP-1s looked just like yours. Reddit pointed me in this direction too, since what I found there was pretty narrow, and I hoped to expand what I knew prior to committing.

There’s a good chance the answers you need are waiting for you right here.

Nice — my route here was Reddit too, and that's how I ended up finding stairway to grey. For roughly 2 years I was stuck in that "I should just be more disciplined" way of thinking, battling cravings nonstop while a lot of the weight I'd dropped came back 😂 If I'm honest, one of the best things about GLPs for me has been that progress no longer requires surviving on chicken, cardio, and misery. And being down 50 lbs already is massive — sounds like your foundation is already really strong.

What do you usually do to keep moving? Vegas is brutally hot right now, so I'm looking for something to swap in for my lunchtime walks.

I began on sema, titrated up to 4, and sat there for close to 3 months. The weight came off slowly. Even so, it gave me the structure to get serious about my diet and cardio. The switch to tirz happened only because my vision kept going blurry, and I never figured out why. On tirz, that blurriness hasn't shown up. I've been parked at 6 for around 6-7 months now and I'm happy with it. I did test going up to 7 and then 8. Instead, hiccups hit me suddenly and lasted 2 full days. That vial was likely overdosed. I went back down and the hiccups stopped. Honestly, I regret not picking up reta. Perhaps I'll make the change and cruise at 4mg. This whole journey teaches you plenty. Pretty neat!

Nevada is definitely feeling the heat right now! For anyone else living in a similar climate, I love staying active by joining a pickleball league — there are quite a few around the valley. I always keep strength training somewhere in my schedule, whether that means lifting weights, doing lagree, or going rock climbing. Lately, though, I’ve signed up to train for a HYROX event, which means logging some treadmill miles. Running outdoors is simply not an option with this weather!
