GLP-1s and endurance cardio: how do you cope?

I'm curious whether anyone here takes part in endurance-style cardio events (and that doesn't have to mean racing). For instance, roughly 2 months back I completed a century bike ride. About 3 weeks ago I began a low dose of tirz. I realize I'm still on a low dose, but my appetite is already affected, and these days I simply lack the energy to do things. I've been trying to add more healthy carbs (things like potatoes, beans and bananas), but wow — this morning I went for a run and at only 20 minutes in I was completely wiped out.

Has anyone else dealt with something similar, and if so, what did you do about it?

Am I handling it? Sure, by dragging myself to the gym when I run out of steam 45 minutes into a session. Before reta, I could easily lift for 90 minutes. Right after starting the sauce, nausea would hit me at about 60 minutes. My strength is unchanged, but these days I typically get a bit shaky around the 45-minute mark. I train fasted, though, and I knew that would matter a lot. Cardio is the same story for me — endurance drops by 40-50%

My usual workaround is to add some extra carbs to my last meal of the day, which I generally eat around 5-6PM.

I’m leaning toward the idea that choosing better carbs and timing them more deliberately will need to be part of my approach. My spouse isn’t on GLPs (though watching how much less food noise I actually have has made them curious) and rode much stronger on the bike last weekend. Sure, that was a 2 hour ride, but even so, there was a time I could knock that out without a second thought.

Lifting is the same story. I’m lowering the volume in each session and slotting in new short micro sessions instead. How it works out remains to be seen.

I'm in a men's league for hockey. Fatigue has been a problem for me — not shortness of breath, but muscles that feel weak and worn out. On game day I make myself eat extra, and I also have a couple of small Gatorades. I keep a small Gatorade on the bench as well. That has made a big difference. It's not the way it used to be, but it's much improved.

I ride centuries too, plus long mountain climbs — around 15 miles with 3,000 vertical feet. While I was going hard on Reta, I had to shift my mindset. I just rode for enjoyment: ignore the power meter, take the e-mtn bike out, and simply ride. Basically, I paused structured training for a few months. Once I reached my goal weight, I moved to a low dose of Tirz for maintenance. I'm also trying ss-31 and Motsc. Motsc added 30 points to my ftp within two weeks. That stuff is amazing. Because digestion is slower, I also have to plan my on-bike nutrition far ahead of time. It's been an interesting challenge, but losing the weight has made it worthwhile.

So I've been hearing positive feedback about mots c, and it's something I'd like to try eventually. At the moment, though, weight loss is my main priority — particularly because glps are simpler to get hold of (yes, it's not as inexpensive as gray, but pomegranate health is quite reasonable, especially since I don't have to worry about reconstitution safety and that sort of thing). As for ss-31, I had no idea what it was, so I looked it up quickly. Very intriguing. Have you run mots and ss-31 in separate cycles to determine whether each one on its own offers different benefits?
