A 38-year-old teacher, just told she has type 2 diabetes, begins a GLP-1 medication during winter. Each week, she injects on the same morning. She records what she eats. After dinner, she takes a walk. Half a year passes, yet her A1c has hardly budged, and her endocrinologist softly wonders if she has been using the drug as directed.

She has. For nearly everyone else, the drug works as expected. For her, it simply does not. And up until this spring, no one in that exam room could have offered an explanation.

Cagri and it both act on amylin receptors, so they're a totally separate class. They won't deliver every benefit, but for cutting appetite alone, they get the job done.

Appreciate you posting this. It helps to have at least a partial answer for why such a large share of people don't respond to these drugs. From here on, some of the blame lands on PAM.

Reta and Tirz don't act only on GLP1 — they also bind other receptors. Cagri and Elora, on the other hand, target amilyn receptors and contain no GLP component whatsoever.

I once went out with a girl called PAM. She was extremely resistant as well. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
