Getting USDT in Canada — any legit options?

Hi everyone, does anyone know of a regulated, dependable route for buying USDT while based in Canada? Up to now, the bigger platforms and wallets I've checked don't carry it. Has anybody come across a reputable option that's allowed under Canadian rules?
 
Can't name exchanges here, but the guy running it is Kris Marszalek — likely the top option in Canada.

That said, USDT is essentially prohibited on most regulated platforms, so just go with USDC
 
Not sure what you're referring to with "meets canadian regulations", but houdiniswap and muteswap let you exchange anything for a small fee, and you don't need an account.

Are you planning to go with a custodial wallet such as Exodus?

That's what you ought to do. If you'd rather not have your funds frozen, never move directly from a regulated account to a supplier. The same applies to every one of the big players.

After you've got coin sent over from an exchange into Exodus, the Web3 section lets you use Jupiter to swap among various coins on the /sol (Solana) chain. That means PYUSD, USDC, USDT, or Solana can each be turned into any of the others. It's fairly inexpensive and quick, though you should read up on the process before trying it! Should you need to be on /eth (ERC-20), then a bridge such as Wormhole (/sol) or Arbitrum (/eth) becomes necessary for swapping tokens on those chains. That's a bit more of a hassle. If you somehow ended up with USDC from C0inba$e on /base then the only easy way to get it onto the right chain is through your C0inba$e account.

There's also a chance you can simply purchase the coin you need inside Exodus for a 3-5% fee. It's robbery, but it's easier, if it works in your location and with your bank.
