hi,

can someone tell me the reason some vendors keep creating brand new Telegram groups?

the previous group looks like it is still running fine, so what is the point of starting new ones?

thx, mike

When it comes to these newly created groups, you really need to keep your guard up. Plenty of scammers run extremely polished operations, going as far as copying discussion and group names exactly, then padding them with bot armies so the place looks busy.

There are also legitimate explanations. Perhaps law enforcement has compromised them, or a rival is deliberately flooding their feed with bots, or their existing group has become so swamped by ad and link bots that sales and reputation are taking a hit. Link bots are a massive headache for my source, and because no auto-moderator is in place to weed them out, I could easily see them abandoning the current chat and launching a fresh one.

Then there's the backup angle: a spare group is kept ready in case the active one gets flagged or reported by telegram and wiped out overnight. A lot of vendors put links to those backups inside their locked announcement thread, which only the vendor is able to post in. That way, should the present group be banned and disappear, people already have the official replacement. See image from one of my vendors:

Appreciate it — that matches my own suspicion pretty closely. The “backup” label a few of them use makes it even more suspicious.

When it comes to invite links, the only ones I click are the ones posted by sellers right here on this forum. Anything else gets refused, and I get approached about that pretty frequently. Every one of those goes straight to the block list 🙂

On top of that, I picked the sellers with the highest activity level here, figuring that means they ship dependably and the product is decent.

Getting third-party testing done remains the advised route, either by pooling money with a group or by paying for it on your own (which costs quite a bit, so the group option tends to be what people pick). Something I picked up quickly after my first small step into the gray market: a vendor stays good only up until the moment they aren't. The ones that look the most dependable are still "Chinese drug dealers," so you shouldn't accept either their promises or their COAs as truth. On top of that, even a seller with the best intentions may end up with a bad batch from whoever manufactures or finishes it.

Still, don't lean too hard on that way of thinking, particularly when it comes to grey — it's the reason forums won't permit ranked vendor lists. Instead, put your effort into picking vendors through research, reviews, and resources such as STG, where a lot of public test results get posted, and on top of that, always run your own testing. A vendor can post here every single day and still end up with poor results and reviews.

This is spot on. What you're buying is still an unidentified chemical out of China, and the MOST you're able to do is reduce your risk. Testing every vial isn't possible, but unless you test every vial, you won't know precisely what's inside each one. That's the fallacy of going grey.
