Hi everyone,
Gecko here, Southern California born and raised.
Dangerously overweight has never been my situation. 29 male, 5'8", the gym a couple of days weekly, and 199 has always been my ceiling before a diet begins — though the struggle never lets up.
Two times now over the last 5 years dieting has been my route to weight loss: 199 was the starting point and 165-170 the cut, and it's rough the whole way through those 4 months or so.
Well, a leap was finally taken — onto GLP medicine, to give weight loss a hand.
reta was my wife's suggestion, and 21 days will be done tomorrow with 0.5mg/week. Amazing is the only word for it: 11 pounds down and 75% of the food noise has vanished, a bar session included.
A month ago, Saturday nights at the bar ended with 2 taco bell combo boxes downed by myself with no trouble. Now it's home and water, straight off — crazy, but awesome.
Hesitant was how I felt at first, and the thought of injecting myself definitely freaked me out — though in the end its really not that bad.
Here's to eating well in 2026!
Much appreciated!
