Hey all.

Ive had type 1 diabetes for 28 years now. I have overall good control, but instead of nervedamahwnin my feet or retinopathy in my eyes, the disease has left me with nerve damage in my bowels causing very slowed digestive motility.

Is there anyone out there who has any recommendations ? I've read a bit on VIP but haven't read much first hand experience with this sort of thing

Wow this is super interesting. I didn't realize oxytocin could be used as a prokinetic for gastroparesis. Might give that a try with bpc157.

Alot of info on here, just wish there was some human trials 😅

Thank you so much for the morning read!

Makes sense as they use pitocin to induce/strengthen contractions during childbirth. I know they gave it to me 3x. People use it for other reasons and I'm just over here 🙈. I wonder what it feels like for people not pregnant.

GHRP’s have been trialed for treating diabetic gastroparesis. Relamorelin specifically was targeted at this but I’m not sure you can find it. You might be able to get an effect out of ipamorelin considering the similarities. I had an incident of acute gastric slowing several months back that left me unable to eat 800 calories daily for over a week (and my maintenance intake is around 3000). Ipamorelin was surprisingly effective for that and provided immediate relief. But obviously your issue is different than mine was.

Efficacy and Safety of Relamorelin in Diabetics with Symptoms of Gastroparesis:A Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Study - PMC

Gastroparesis is a complication of diabetes with few treatment options. Relamorelin (also called RM-131) is a selective, prokinetic agonist of ghrelin. We aimed to evaluate efficacy of relamorelin on symptoms and gastric emptying (GE) in a 12-week, ...

I genuinely appreciate your feedback on this.

I had 4 bowel obstructions over the course of a year or 2. Luckily with trial and error dieting, i was able to figure out what foods were making things harder to pass through. I'd been living with constant constipation and discomfort for years now having to rely on stimulant laxatives one a week to clear myself out.

I started tesamorelin a week or so ago to up ghrelin production and I think it's been helping a bit so far!

Tesa shouldn’t have any effect on ghrelin at all. It’s an analog of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH). You want a ghrelin receptor agonist (GHRP): ipamorelin is an example of this.

They both end in -morelin but they are in completely different drug classes and have very different effects.
