I'm 7 weeks into tirz, and 5mg is now my dose for the 3rd week. Up until now, things were going along fine. Then this week hit: Monday showed 83.3, Tuesday jumped to 84.7, and today it's 84.1! That has me really annoyed. I realize this isn't actual fat gain—it's more likely water retention and similar factors—but it still feels like a slap in the face, particularly since I BARELY consume about 1000-1300 calories. I'm not constipated either, and my water intake has stayed at roughly 2 liters or more throughout this week. I'm both baffled and furious. I genuinely believed I was on the verge of 82, and now I'm sitting back at 84.

Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just…let it pass?

For me, stepping on the scale just 1x weekly turned out to be helpful.

A lot of things can trigger this kind of shift, so don't let it consume you

As long as the program is producing results, even if it's only monthly, keep pushing forward.

If anything, you ought to be increasing your water intake. Mine can swing 3-4lbs within just a couple of hours. People advise against stepping on the scale every day, but I'm guilty of doing it too lol.

I keep a record, though I only jot down the lowest numbers:

278.80 lbs June 16

277.6lbs June 21

276.6 June 23

275.6 June 26

275.9 July 6

275.5 July 12

275.2 July 15

273.6 July 16

273.3 July 17

272.5 July 18

271.7 July 19

270.6 July 21

269.6 July 25

268.7 July 26

268.5 July 28

267.5 July 29

267.0 July 30

265.9 July 31

265.7 Aug 1

265.2 Aug 2

264.9 Aug 4

263.6 Aug 5

262.8 Aug 6

262.2 Aug 7

262.1 Aug 9

260.7 Aug 10

Weirdly, today I saw 260.7 on the scale twice, and 264.2 once as well lol.

It drives me absolutely crazy. I attempted to limit weigh-ins to just Wednesdays and Saturdays, but honestly I'm way too fixated on having control lol. Next time I step on the scale will be Saturday only, and I'll check what that shows. Appreciate it!

Seeing the scale climb feels awful, even if you realize it isn't real fat. Be sure to stay hydrated, and do your best not to worry about it.

Are you male or female? Sudden water retention can affect anyone, but for women it tends to happen roughly once a month... You don't have to answer, I just wanted to put it out there in case it's relevant for you.

I'm female. As it happens, my period is due very soon (roughly 5 days out), assuming it shows up when expected this month — ever since I began tirz, it's been postponed whenever it feels like it lol
