Hey all! I'm joining to kick off my Reta experience and get to a place where I feel like the best version of myself.
A bit about me: I'm a woman in my mid-thirties. Roughly two years back, I hit my top weight of 230 pounds. I was finally moving through the recovery stages of my divorce, and it hit me that something had to change. Binge eating disorder has been a lifelong struggle for me, and as I was emotionally rebuilding after the divorce, the binges came back. Yo-yo dieting was familiar territory too, but whenever my emotions ran high, the binges took over.
I'm telling you this because I came to see that the foundation of any lifestyle shift (for me, that meant weight loss) is a healthy mental outlook. My belief is that every diet I tried failed because I hadn't first done the work of healing from my trauma.
When I felt ready, I got on Zepbound through my insurance. I stayed on Zepbound for 8 months, and then my insurance made the call to move me to Wegovy. I'm sure you can guess how that played out- the weight started coming back and I hit a plateau. Wegovy simply didn't do for me what Zepbound had. After that, I went hunting for telehealth and compounding pharmacy options, and I've been with them ever since.
These days, I'm healed and happily remarried. My mother-in-law brought up peptides to me, sharing her own reta journey too. So here I am- doing my own homework, because she was very clear about how crucial it is to learn before you dive in. She also compared it to Fight Club and told me I'd figure out my own path (annoying as it is, I think she's right).
I'm excited to find a new community and can't wait to chat with all of you. Much love from New England.
