basically, my weight loss journey has been massive. i began at 420 pounds and got down to around 235-245. after that, i plateaued for roughly a year and 7 months. it was a bit frustrating, but also not really. i've dropped weight this way before, and i've found that a long stall near the end really helps with skin elasticity.

anyway, i chose to start losing again, and i added Reta plus GHKCU to assist. in 2 months, i've shed another 20 pounds, bringing me to 226.

i'm a bit unsure about my Reta dosage—how much to increase it—so that's why i'm here.

i also just made my first order from China thanks to the guidance on this forum, so thank you all for that.

i'm really excited to work through this.

MY CURRENT DILEMA:

i began Reta at .5mg. i have a strong fear of medication and low tolerance to most drugs. at .5mg, it felt perfect.

the appetite suppression was intense. my average heart rate went up (apple watch), and it even seemed to reduce my anxiety. things that normally stressed me out didn't.

so i stayed at that dose for 6 weeks. but it began to fade. i moved up to 1mg. no change. after two weeks, i went to 1.5mg—still no change.

now i have to inject on Wednesday and i'm not sure whether to go to 2mg or do another week at 1.5mg.

any advice would be appreciated.

When it comes to using reta to break through a stall, I really don't have anything concrete to offer. Could you tweak anything else instead? What about what you eat, or how much you move? Do you think you might actually be undereating? Plenty of people in this community will probably chime in with suggestions. The fact that .5 worked so well for you shows you ARE a responder, which is a good sign. Hitting a plateau on reta with no warning is pretty common. You're not the only one. Given how much weight you've already dropped, perhaps your body just wants to stay at this point for a while before you make the last stretch toward your target?

Wishing you all the best, and welcome!

I log every single calorie, no exceptions. The appetite suppression has clearly worn off, and because of that I've been eating more.

So yesterday evening I went ahead and injected 1.75mg. Curious to see what today brings. Really looking forward to it.

To quiet the food noise, my wife adds a bit of cagri (I believe 200mcg). Your dose is still on the low side, but given how sensitive you are, my suggestion would be to bump it up by .5 each week and keep the total under 2mg. Once you reach 2mg, I'd suggest holding for a month before moving to 4.

Because I'm quite sensitive and can't stand burps with a foul taste, splitting the dose into twice a week suits me well. After you hit 2mg, that might be worth trying. I take mine at night. It appears to ease the body load. Sleeping with a stomach that feels way too full is something I really dislike.

Nice work, and glad you're here!! I hope this place teaches you plenty. Sorry, I don't have any Reta advice to offer yet!

Fingers crossed that went through. I figure you already know the usual take that tirz beats reta when it comes to killing appetite . . . during most of your weight loss, were you taking a GLP1?

nope, this is the first glp1 i've ever used. yeah, i've read that tirz does a better job. switching is something i might do down the road, but right now i've put too much into reta to walk away 😂

anyway, on the 5th i pinned 1.75mg, and so far today it's feeling pretty great.

usually i have around 400 calories every morning, but this morning just thinking about eating nearly made me gag. so i went with a protein shake instead and carried on.

let's see how the rest of this goes.
