Fridge Storage Limits

You'll get more life out of them in the fridge than at room temperature, though in the freezer and kept dark they hold for many years.

Based on STG, once reta has been reconstituted and then frozen, it loses 14% potency after 45 days stored at room temperature. If kept reconstituted in the fridge, the degradation over those same 45 days falls between 3-5%, and reaches 9% by 90 days. Peptide that has never been reconstituted and is kept in the freezer remains viable for years. Generally speaking, refreezing reconstituted reta is probably best avoided, since ice crystal formation is reported to harm the peptide. Each single freeze-thaw cycle results in 4-14% loss of the peptide. Researchers report different precise figures. Tirz seems to be a far more stable peptide

Do you have a link or source backing up that reta degradation figure? Not that I'm saying it's wrong—just want to see it, since my expectation would have been a smaller number given what's been seen with other peptides. That said, it's entirely plausible that a particular peptide breaks down more quickly following freeze-thawing. If someone purchases high-dose reta vials but takes a low dose, freezing could remain a workable approach provided the contents get divided across several vials. With a 14% loss from a freeze-thaw cycle, a 2 mg dose would shift by no more than 0.28 mg. Even so, for those on low doses over the long haul, smaller-dose vials are probably the smarter purchase.

Keeping powdered tirz down in the basement inside a dark box. Does anyone know whether it can hold up for a year? All the info I come across regarding how long to store it leaves me puzzled, because there is no way to tell if it spent 14 days at 30degrees celsius while being shipped, or 8 month sitting on a shelf at the manufacturer / vendor.

If the recon'ed solution is clear and effect is working all is good?

Right, once production wraps up, it's anyone's guess. I really don't believe vendors store kits in fridges, let alone freezers. On top of that, shipping takes time, and during transit the peptides face whatever temperatures come along.

So I put the question to AI, and below is what it gives as the likely stability windows. My guess is this shifts depending on the specific peptide and how it was made, but at least it offers a rough structure to think with.

yeah i probably messed up.. grabbed a kit, everything went great. Then i went overboard and picked up 3 additional ones, so now i'm sitting on tirz that at my current dose would stretch 4 years.. (4mg so still on the low side)

but it still came out cheaper than a 15mg kwikpen so.. win?

I came across info saying dry powder Reta keeps for 1 -1.5 years when stored at room temperature.

I recall a Janoshik video going around mentioning that lyophilized peptides could sit in the fridge for 2 years without issue. In a deep freeze, maybe 5-10. Kept in a dark corner, even 6 months or more was still alright.

That said, past those points they aren't necessarily useless—just that breakdown has already begun.

That's interesting! Now I need to go look this up.
