Freight forwarding from the US may be on some people's minds, so my experience shipping to Germany is worth sharing.
Reaching for forward2me.com was my choice, and I have nothing bad to say about them, their support was helpful in managing the issues I had with UPS. The process: order from whichever US supplier you prefer, hand over the forward2me US postal address, and they send it on once all the required information is in and your invoice is paid. Getting creative with the invoice may be necessary, since item descriptions are often extremely generic, but forward2me needs to know which customs code applies to your order so something has to be given to them. "personal cosmetics" is what I used. UPS delivering the order was the hardest part, complete shit show. DHL is being added, but right now its only Fedex and UPS.
