For the people who bought bunk Reta, what were the symptoms that made you realize it wasn't good?

IMO, they send it off with no ID of the manufacturer/ supplier name to whoever, Janoshik, or other. Is there a hidden network where they all know what's going on, sure maybe? Who do we trust, a US based one like Nexpha, BFF or J5 or, a compounding pharmacy that charges out the ass likely. Would you trust Lobster, Changsha, or doing their own and supplying their own COAs I say a bunch, this is purely my personal opinion. I personally have a boatload of this stuff and only had one vial that was a cloudy after reconing, but a day later clear in the fridge, I now reconstitute my stuff a week before we need it, so everything dissolves. I guess the BA in BAC doesn't hurt with an possible bacteria,

Brown nosing doesn't help, lol 💩

Unless you personally test every vial then you can never be sure, I’ve 100% had varying levels of quality from a single kit. No way of knowing if you bought 10 kits that testing one would mean they were all the same quality

So whilst no testing at all is level 10 on the risk scale, vendors providing COAs moves you down the risk profile a bit, independent group buys brings you down a bit further.

I believe reta is one of the most tested peptides both by vendors as well as by customers...is there really that many failures or concerns with it?? To loose reta sales would be a big hit for a bottom line. And yes I understand this thread applies to other peps...

Have there been alot of cases where the reta just didn't work? where it was bunk?? Please school me on this.

Either way I see this testing system morphing into something simpler..something more universal that will apply both to customers as well as manufacturers...it's in a gray confused and unorganized area now....but soon...

Personally I like the kiss principle and think the cookie test is about the best I've heard.......

I've had vials tested where the result was "ND." If it's not reta, then what am I injecting? Everyone has their own acceptable risk level. Mine doesn't include taking stuff that isn't what I ordered. YMMV.

In my ideal world, I'd have a group of 4 - 6 trustworthy pep buddies that were interested in the same 2 things as me (tirz and reta). We would trade off buying/testing, so say for example this month I'm buying and testing 2 kits of T30 from vendor X. I share results with my buddies so they can buy from the same vendor (or not). Next time we need product, someone else researches / buys / tests. One out of each of my 4 - 6 buys I'm shelling out for testing and the rest I'm buying with confidence bc someone I trust is shelling out for testing and has "verified" a vendor.

I can tell you don't test a lot, because you haven't heard of the recent spikes in 0-peptide results, cloudy, gelling, vendors putting 1,2 vials in every kit that's bunk, etc.

Your completely correct @Habibibi - I don't test alot - so far my purchases have been from online websites - which have coa's posted - both Jano and others. I have purchased with a friend other peps from other sources that have 3rd party certs available. So yes my risk has been higher than other peoples- and I'm currently in the process of assessing my risk tolerance.

At present I take alot of peps - 3 or 4 of them have changed my life.

I have yet to read about a death directly from peptides - or serious harm from them- and I hope I never do - as this will give the people in power reasons to clamp down tight on this hobby we all have embraced. These stories may be out there - with or without evidence - and I believe it's hard to know or say for sure the truth to them if they were.

But I actually I have read alot on this forum about the 0 peptide results - the triz issues & tests. This has given me significant concern. I have been on other forums that have vendors with cloudy products - but have tested and been cleared by jano, I have read alot about gelling- about aod 9604 - which I currently take - and why it - and other peptides jell when reconstituted, I've read about reconstituting with dmso and peg with slu-pp-332 and 915 - which I'll be trying out soon. I've read about Dihexa - and the amazing potential it holds for people like my father who have dementia (or alzheimers) and about it's huge downside for possible cancer prolification.

I've read about cjc/ipam and triz - and possibly reta that is bunk -mostly on this forum - it's a bloody wealth of knowledge I'm happy to have. I personally have had heart palpitations from reta - minor - but still of concern.

I'll admit I haven't heard about vendors putting 1-2 bunk vials in every kit . If you can point me to those posts I'd be very appreciative. At present I can't see this as a reasonable thing to believe as it would seriously harm a vendors bottom line and reputation in an emerging industry which is generating very significant income - it would be like them putting a noose around their own neck - but this is only my opinion - which will change with more information. I'm sure there are alot of lies out there - and separating the lies from the truth is what I'd like to be good at. But I need to read about both sides of the stories. I need to hear from people who can reason- who can put two and two together for large values of two and come up with 5 (for the calculus or math majors out there !)

What I'm trying to do is learn and form my own opinion to assess my comfort with risk vs cost - that's all.

This can be a very confusing and touchy subject- like @px1984 above said - it's hard to be 100% sure unless you test every vial in the kit- which would be insanity but necessary for zero risk.

So where does the centerline lie? I need to decide for myself- and I'm looking for factual information - or concrete reasoning that is solid which gives me pause for thought - opinions are nice - but actual experiences, facts without bias - or argument with the most plausible reasoning will impress upon me the most.

This is reasoning that I see many new people make, treating this like any market. Reputation is less of an issue in this market when you can change your whole operation (name, salespeople, crypto wallet) overnight. In fact, that's what many do. So the incentive to "stand behind your product" is much lower than you think, when you can come back the next day and continue making money.

this is where the harm reduction part comes in: test vials from the same the batch. A batch is product of the same strength, with the same cap color, bought about the same time. Some people do it in a group to save money. Even this basic setup has made it easy to detect mistakes within a batch: 0 pep, wrong peptide, wrong dose, uknown contaminant, low purity. I actually don't think the decision to test or not is a confusing subject. It's simple if harm reduction is the goal, but simple things aren't easy or cheap.

I just got into buying from the grey market. Used to buy from a US reseller, which was overpriced, but it worked perfectly. I filtered it, but couldn't find a group test so didn't test it myself. Now I wait to see if it's any good. Any signs or symptoms I should look out for?

Hi Kitty Paws- I apologize if I derailed your thread - but to come back to your initial question- I have not known any symptoms or signs that "good" reta gave me to indicate it was fine - other than working - and for me it worked with a starting dose of about 1.5mg/wk - however I've seen lower starting doses of less than 1mg / wk that worked.

Others have mentioned a tingling feeling with true reta - however I am unaware of the required dose for this - have never felt it myself.

If you are concerned about what you have purchased from the grey market - I would suggest - you see if you can find other buyers who purchased from the same seller to ask if they had any issues or problems. You can also do a websearch on the seller to see if anything comes up. If the seller has a website - you can check how long the site has been up on waybackmachine - the longer the site has been up the better.

Lastly- You can try to pin a very small amount of the reta to check for any reactions- if you don't have any after 24 hrs - your are most likely ok.

Hope all turns out ok for you !

If you want to "know", then test. If you have the funds , and in the context of larger purchases the extra cost per vial does not add up to a huge number, and provides a lot of peace of mind and actual real safety benefits. And is a good reason to buy in quantity once you decide you are going to be on something for a long time, more expensive when starting or not sure if it will work for you or not, but it sounds like you might be at the point of using it for a while so it would make sense to buy in quantity and test. Not quite to pharma levels of safety, but not miles off and still vastly cheaper.

Otherwise you have to go on "feelz". If you are just starting this is not as useful, but if you are already on a given dose that you know has certain side effects or effects on hunger, then it should not be too hard to feel if the effect is similar, though you can never be certain a response is not a placebo or nocebo response.

For me the first one I ever used was tirz, and I was on the legit version already, which gave me the not so common side effect of louder tinnitus, so when the Chinese version had the exact same effect it was pretty convincing evidence it was the same drug.

Just tested it on myself and this stuff is stronger than what I was getting from US resellers lol, same dosage and everything, feels like the first time I took Reta, my hunger has completely gone away again, and I've been on this for 3 months.

Glad to hear Kittypaws ! Your fears, like mine when I initially started- were largely unfounded - with time comes experience and learning.....the more you learn about peps, the manufacturers, the users, the experiences - the upsides and the downsides - the more educated you will become - fear will be replaced with understanding.

Just because you didn't get the vial tested does not make you any more of a risktaker than any of the respondents above...in fact I'm glad for all the testers - they are keeping the system in check.....and my hat is off to them all ....they are very much appreciated!!! if I had unlimited funds I'd pay for testing left right & center....but I don't....I'm happy to let others do it & learn from their info...

Don't let anyone instill the fear of the unknown into you .....Everyone has opinions whether right or wrong -a wise man learns to know the difference.

Hope your reta journey is fruitful my friend !

While I haven't been in the life of Gray that long. I'm a fairly fast Study. I try not to ask to much of people. I usually gain info from reading. You my Good Man have helped me a ton with things. While you keep the fence up to a certain extent. Other little things like labels for vials help. With respect to this topic, which is basically about testing. We tend to rely on testing that includes. Purity, fill, and Endotoxins. Very few pay for a Bioessay. While it may be pure, and overfilled. It may not be Potent. The Bioessay costs 1500- 1800 dollars for a test. Does anyone agree with my conclusions?

Back to the OP's question.

I purchased some ineffective Reta back in April. Upon use I immediately noticed no skin tingling like all the prev batches. But worse than that, Reta calms down my autoimmune diseases (I have multiple) and is a godsend for this. This is why I inject twice per week, as it works fast and lasts 3-4 days in 'anti inflammatory' mode (so to speak). Absolutely wonderful results for me, as long as I do Sunday and Thursday.

The bunk reta allowed my autoimmune diseases to flare up really fast. And oh man it came back with a vengeance. I bloated right up, got sick as hell, gained a bunch of water weight and so on. The bad thing is, I've not fully recovered from that and still have lingering water retention. Something that was completely GONE on good Reta.

I guess I'm a good test case for bunk Reta.

Hi Cujet- don't want to derail this thread too much...but I agree completely - reta does alot more than just weightloss- without going into detail - I've noticed exactly what you said about calming !

What sort of dosage were you taking that caused the tingling ? I've never experienced it but am not at high doses yet.

The bunk reta that you had- can you explain more - was it a single vial from a group of 10 ? was it an entire group of 10 that was bad ? was it just a single vial purchased from an online seller ? a website ? or a group buy thing?

Thanks

The ineffective Reta was supposedly made by Changsha Tech, purchased from a US reseller as a package of 4ea 20mg vials. IIRC, Black cap, silver crimp.

Prior Reta was purchased from Peptidology Dec 2025 and Feb 2026 on a recommendation that it came from Taiwan and was epic good. It was. 4mg per week was the most I could tolerate for most of the time, eventually 5mg per week. Lost 70 pounds, the first 40 pounds went fast, mostly water/autoimmune inflammation.

I'm really sorry that happened.

There are a fair number of freeloaders who believe it's just fine for other people to shell out for testing but don't contribute themselves. They recommend "asking around" to get access to test results to protect themselves without offering anything in return.

I think it's partly because these consumers lax that vendors will attempt to sell crap to people like you, who suffer serious consequences. Not cool.
