Hey everyone!

Long-time lurker, first-time writer. Reta had my attention for ages, and what finally pushed me to start was spotting a rather nasty stretch mark on my stomach a couple of months ago 😅

Today marked week 3 of 2mg for me, and my wife is doing it alongside me — she'd been curious about it too. Honestly, it's a bit more intimidating going through this with someone I love before I've fully figured out the ropes and done enough self-experimenting, but so far, so good. That said, I keep realizing there's still plenty I don't know. Case in point: apparently you shouldn't pop the plastic caps back onto your vials after drawing from them lol. Right now I'm just trying to stay dialed in on doing everything safely and sterilely.

My starting point was 220lbs at 5'8", and I'm down about 10 lbs since that first weigh-in. Picked up a nice electric scale that spits out cool graphs for BMI, BF%, and so on — great for a nerd like me, and it also helps make sure we're not wrecking our health or dropping weight too quickly.

I've also gotten into the habit of taking a solid multivitamin dose plus pre/probiotics, and I've probably never been this hydrated in my entire life. So far neither of us has run into much beyond some fatigue and mild anhedonia. Can't wait to see what the next few months bring!

Appreciate the welcome!

Welcome aboard! I'm using reta too – keeping an eye on BF% alongside the scale is a wise approach, since a lot of folks just focus on the number on the scale. Wishing you and your wife a smooth next few weeks.

Glad to have you at Glepnarb - I'm also just getting started here....that said, my time on reta is 2x yours....-10lb is a solid result, keep going ....there's plenty to pick up around here....go at your own pace & have fun with it.

I’m quite anxious on a personal level about developing hollowed-out features, sagging skin, significant muscle wasting, and so on, so I’m making an effort to act early wherever possible. Whether that concern is actually justified, I can’t say, but I definitely want to steer clear of it.

Welcome aboard—I too began Reta not long ago, having previously used prescription Tirzepetide about 2 years back.

Side effects have been far more tolerable than they were with the Tirz!

I’d also recommend trying electrolytes for the dehydration!

Does Reta treat the body more gently compared to Tirz? So far Tirz has been fairly gentle on me—mainly it leaves me extremely thirsty, and during the first 2 weeks I got a headache on the day of my injection. Since I'm still at a low dose, should I expect the side effects to intensify once the dose goes up?

Honestly, it varies from person to person. My wife has had a smooth time on Tirz with almost no side effects. For me, though, anything with seasoning was off-limits for at least 3 days after injecting—otherwise I'd get sick and deal with awful reflux.

On Reta, I'm able to eat what I like, within reason!

That's great to hear, congrats. I haven't begun any peps yet, but my initial Reta order is on its way. Can't wait to get going!

What kind of smart scale did you end up choosing? I've been considering getting one.
VeSync is the app, though I'm unsure about the scale itself. Possibly Etekcity?

Staying hydrated has made a big difference. I have electrolytes every day and get about 70-80oz of water in daily.
