I've tried multiple filter types by now, and every time I hit clogs — barely anything goes through, and after a tiny bit forces its way past, the rest just won't budge. I've watched a bunch of videos.. I give it 15-20 mins to sit after recon. Unless every filter I've picked up is simply garbage, I can't figure out why this keeps occurring. I just placed an order for biologix to see whether that fixes things, but I'd like to hear if anyone else has anything to add. What I'm running is 13mm 0.22um. Bac total is only 1ml, and this time it was tesa. Sadly, on this occasion it clogged, and while I was trying to deal with it, I wound up losing 3/4 of a vial — and that stuff isn't cheap!

That might simply be too viscous, friend. A volume of 1mL is extremely small. What made you choose that specific concentration?

For every 10mg of tesa, add 1ml.

Which brand are the filters, and what are their specs?

A handful of no-name PES filters, 13mm, 0.22um

I do let air into the receiving vial, yes. I figured my vent and transfer needles might be undersized, so I drew up water with a bigger needle and shot it toward the sink.. Still nothing

The 2 fixes that worked for me — switching to a larger filter and a larger transfer needle — are ones you've already attempted.

Given that water wouldn't even pass through, my suspicion is that your filters are hydrophobic rather than hydrophilic.

Could you post photos of what you're working with?

The one I'm talking about can be found on amazon listed as “Cobetter” and it's hydrophilic. I've given several other options a shot from amazon and elsewhere—occasionally they work without issue, other times nothing flows. My hope is that the biologix ones turn out to be the solution
