This applies to any drug whose patent is still in force and blocks generics — those are still "new" too. Missing decades of safety data is something every freshly approved medication shares; it isn't a trait specific to compounded products or items sold on the gray market.

What reassures me is that roughly 30-35 million adults in the US are taking a GLP-1 right now. That works out to 1 in 8 adults. And how many anecdotal horror stories do you actually come across? Comparatively few. On top of that, a good number of them have a straightforward explanation, most often a dosing mistake.
