M 41. My path back into sports began after a sedentary break for having kids 3 years ago. I soon learned that dropping weight at 38 is quite hard, though my climbing is still decent. So 2 years ago I went strict keto, which worked well—cheese, bacon, and meat suit me. Still, my loss seemed capped. A heavier coworker had spent a year on GLP and shed roughly 30% of his bodyweight, which got me researching. About a month ago I began reta, and it has been a revelation: no sides, no energy problems, only appetite suppression and that wonderful sense of fullness while eating non keto food in sensible portions. Now I'm walking a fine line, trying to drop my final 10 pounds or so without sacrificing muscle or ending up with sagging skin. My wife dropped 20% of her body weight on glp, but very slowly across 2 years, and had no skin trouble, so I'm taking it slow too. I look forward to hearing other rock climbing stories here.
