Delivery from China

I was responding to how a delay in shipping might indicate that the US warehouse is out of stock and the might be sending from CN

As far as I can follow, ordering from China is much safer than using USPS for shipping from an USA warehouse. Appearently much more packages are being lost with USPS than the ones shipped from China??

I have seen somany threads with complaints about losing their packages, taking too long to receive and tracking records showing a whole journey of the package through all US.

It is always shit when a postal service belongs to the government. There is a new customs fee la in Eu now. 3 euro customs fee has to be paid for each kind of ordered item from outside EU. I have recently seen that Belgian post has sent an invoice of 35 euro to make declaration of 3 euro of a package. They have sent the package to the customs for inspection too, after receiving 35 euros. It was not my package. But package of an other Belgian member of the forum. Content was bac water from India. He is still waiting

Lol, USPS taking forever, packages taking circuitous routes, USPS not updating a packages journey....that's unfortunately just USPS now, nothing to do with what the package actually contains. My experience is a truly lost package is mercifully rare. I'm NO fan of USPS, but for the most part if a package gets handed to them it gets delivered. Eventually.

Many here don’t want it shipped from CN, regardless of the speed…There are people with Global Entry and professional credentials who can’t afford to have a customs seizure come back on them and they strictly avoid CN orders…The problem is when a US order gets turned into a CN order without their knowledge…

You do hear these stories about USPS, but at 59 years old they have never lost a package of mine. I also get a lot delivered for various reasons and have used them in my business.

Customs, on the other hand, have seized a package from me.

Once it gets in the US system, pretty safe to say odds are 99%+ you will get it.

You are absoletly right about that. A package ordered from a warehouse in USA may not be directed to China. Such vendors have to be eliminated. I have just seen so many compaint posts about USPS and my reaction was for that. Otherwise, I don't live in USA and can not know how it really works.

I agree, USPS is totally weird now. I've had a package come in through FL, go to TX, make a stop at every state around my state, go back to TX and then come to me. It had to go over me at least twice. I mean, seriously.... wtf?

Everything seems to have gone downhill since the CNY. I think they could no longer handle the demand. So, they’ve been sending out bad products and taking a long time with shipping. I’m waiting to see if things calm down. I have enough of what I really need for the moment. I won’t order again until around October. I also will never use a vendor who ships via USPS. They are the worst when it comes to shipping.

One of the grape buy organizers I follow posted a nifty calendar for the next four months with days shown in green/yellow/red for expected shipping speed. Multi-day Chinese holidays when everything comes to a stop. Extended Christmas-season wholesale and retail orders to the US and much of the world. Et cetera.

I don't think I'm at liberty to post that calendar here, but we can all think it through when ordering from China.

And then there's the Tete/Spring Festival next year, a famous no-go time to order. Also, it seems, the annual exclamation point on CN authorities big biz-ending busts of vendors and warehouses there.

2020-2025 was a five year stretch where dude wrecked the USPS. How do you not understand this started 6 years ago?

I'm just a research rat. I understand very little, and am easily distracted by shiny objects.
