Hello there! I'm dropping in from the Central TX area. I'm middle-aged, and like many of you probably know all too well, I've spent a big chunk of my life watching my weight go up and down. Exercise usually kept things under control, but once I had my child, the pounds went through the roof. I gave Wegovy and ZEP a shot through insurance, and even though my co-pays weren't bad, I never really built healthier routines. So I was dropping weight, just not in a healthy manner. In the end I stopped, and within 4 months every pound came back.
About 4 months ago I began training with a trainer, and now we're at the point where we believe a GLP1 could help. I looked into bariatric surgery, but since my BMI doesn't satisfy insurance requirements…. there's no way I'm paying 20K+ out of pocket
. My trainer has some clients doing well on GLP1s, so I figured I'd start this journey to get a clearer picture of what my choices are. I'm completely amazed by how much great information is gathered here…I enjoy falling down rabbit holes, so this seems like the ideal spot to dive deep into a wide range of subjects. I'm still a bit undecided, and I don't know exactly what it'll take for me to jump in (ba-ding) once more, so please be patient with me while I test the waters.
