Hello, Brandy here, writing from Virginia.

A little about me: 49 years young, and the big 50 arrives in a few months. Married to my best friend for 28 yrs, with 3 wonderful kids and 7 fur babies — 5 of them mini dachshunds, plus 1 lab and a cat.

Obesity has been part of my whole life, starting around the age of 8. High school had me over 200 lbs. My peak in my 30's was 350. That's what got me researching WLS. At 37 I went through a weight loss procedure called the DS — sleeve plus reroutiny of my intestines, similar to a gastric bypass but considerably more involved. 110 lbs came off, and stayed off for about 8 yrs. Then boom: 80 lbs back on during Covid.

Roughly 2 yrs back my mother fell ill and ended up on Hospice. That was the point where I'd had enough — I didn't want the health problems my mom had. She was severely obese as well and had the same surgery, but her health went downhill about 3 yrs ago. Phentermine came next, and 30 lbs came off with it, until mild heart palpitations started and I stopped. From there I began researching glp1 semaglutide, and another 30 lbs came off on that. Then my mom past away last year and I quit the shot. Grief is a horrible thing to go through — and 40 lbs found me again. By December of last year I'd got my act together and restarted semaglutide; sadly it stopped working for me even at the highest dose. In March I moved to Tirzepatide, I'm at the highest dose of 15 mg and I've lost 11 lbs.

While researching, a friend pointed me towards this group. So here I am, hoping to make new friends and pick up as much as I can about the different peptides out there. With support from people here I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Apologies for the length!! Once I start talking it's hard for me to stop.
