Before you make a rough estimate of your protein intake based on 1-2gr/kg body weight etc., take a look at this. Consuming excessive protein can also be harmfulrodrom82 said:
You can't really hold it against me that I've picked up a few personal food experiences.eidos said:

Small update: Friday didn't happen for me, even though that was the plan. I wasn't in the right headspace, and once I was... it turned out I had zero needles... When I purchased them I never checked what was inside, and I figured the pharmacy would mention it if it mattered... Apparently not.. Looks like Wednesday will be my start day... needles plus alcohol wipes should show up today or tomorrow...
Questions: I've come across mentions of sulfur burps and graveyard farts (flatulence).
That said, are there any foods that might lessen these side effects? Or dodge them completely? I'm after specific ingredients (garlic, cheese, bread...) since I'm aware that highly processed foods (pizza, McDonald's...) are bad for you
Enough, please — it makes me think of how long it has been: 7 years without a Rodenbach or an authentic Liège waffle.
The downside: those (junk) foods are off the table for you. The upside: a serving of proper fries once a year will taste far better, and you'll find you can't get through a Whopper or a Steakhouse burger either (that's also a once-a-year thing, because the stomach upset that follows will put you off repeating it). Food spending will drop too.
My advice is to pick up some nutrition fundamentals. Ask your doctor for a referral to someone qualified. There are also several very good books out there. Steer clear of fad or extreme diets; without professional supervision you shouldn't be on them. The Mayo Clinic doctors' books are highly informative and offer clever ways to judge portion sizes.
I've visited Anvers a few times, so I know from firsthand experience that you can find decent, healthy options there. Mussels are quite healthy and packed with protein
These days I order my Embecta needles from an online pharmacy based in Kontich. The price is excellent. Given my Mounjaro prescription, reimbursement is only possible once every 8 years.
During 6 months on Mounjaro — 1 month at 2.5 mg, then 5 mg — my weight settled only slightly, at a BMI between 31 and 31.5, while my glycemia stayed all over the place.
So 3 months ago I moved to Tirz from Shanghai, and after that Reta. At present I take 10 mg/week of each. The outcome: BMI is 27; HbA1c went from 10.5 down to 6.5. Since the year began I've had fries 1 time, sautéed potatoes 1 time, and half a glass of red wine, and honestly, I don't crave any of it.
My intention was to stick with clean eating (though what even counts as clean nowadays?)
Seafood, every type of meat, plus greens in equal or greater amounts.
I'm aiming to cover all my nutritional needs.
The one thing I'm a bit wary of is hitting 130gr of protein each day (to safeguard muscle) through eggs, milk, protein shakes (sugar-free and low cal), beans, and meat/fish.
That's tough when hunger doesn't show up at all....
I'm not overly stressed about it, just gathering info and figuring out what I can realistically manage.
As for my journey, the approach I've got (we'll see how smoothly it goes) is to avoid quitting calories all at once. Instead, I'll dial them down gradually to a point that feels sustainable.
Still, as they say, "No plan survives contact with the enemy," so I'll adjust and pick things up as I go. And I've got you all to shine a light on the spots where I'm in the dark.
