Good morning, everything needed to start reta is here, and I'm slightly worried about mood effects. Would you share what you've experienced? My plan is to begin at 1 or 2 mg per week, matching the minimum doses used during the experimental phases. How have those dosages treated you?

Thanks a lot

Elvira

Overall, research hasn’t found meaningful mood changes in either direction, aside from the fact that after substantial weight loss, quality of life tends to improve for most people.

That said, plenty of users do report feeling tired or emotionally blunted to some extent. My advice is not to fixate on it, because it’s remarkably easy to convince yourself you’re experiencing those effects. Even if you have a real mood condition such as major depression or anxiety, I’d give the same advice: wait until your mood actually shifts before treating it as a problem. Watching yourself like a hawk for any mood change is, ironically, a great way to make one happen.

The side effects that genuinely show up often are nausea, vomiting, constipation and diarrhoea, and they vary a lot from person to person. Roughly a quarter to a half of people will deal with them to a meaningful degree. They tend to appear and hit hardest around 2 - 4 months in, while doses are being raised, and for most people they ease with time. Reta may also bring on strange or uncomfortable skin feelings, though that becomes far more likely at higher doses.

On a starting dose of 1mg, the likeliest outcome is feeling nothing at all, possibly slightly reduced appetite, and maybe a touch of nausea.

One useful thing to keep in mind: any given dose needs about 24 hours to be absorbed and reach peak levels, which is when side effects may show up, and roughly a week for levels to fall to half of that. So on an unchanged dose, levels accumulate over about 4 weeks. That’s the reason you’re supposed to leave 4 weeks between dose increases. If side effects do occur and you want to see what’s happening, https://glp1plotter.com/ can be used to plot blood levels, helping you figure out when peaks in levels and side effects line up.
