Hey all! Finding this forum has made me very happy!
Educating myself as I begin this journey into the realm is my purpose here.
How much detail you'd like, I'm honestly not sure, but I'll give it an honest go!
A bit of back story: a serious back injury hit at 25yo — multiple prolapsed discs and a few fractures. Time rolled on, I'm approaching 34 now, and after years of more or less accepting my fate, something in my thinking shifted.
Im carrying extra weight, which I imagine is how most people land here. My weight has bounced around +-2st, 13-15st over the years, but enough is enough.
Going from physically active and working out to being scared of moving too much destroyed whatever confidence I had in how I looked. Terrible eating habits became my comfort: meals skipped, junk binged, and my nutrition and health attended to by nobody, least of all me.
A friend put me onto reta recently and it sounded like a miracle. My first prefilled pen got bought, and the journey started. Magic is almost how it feels. For the first time in ages I feel like I'm in control of myself! Foods get weighed, macros get counted, and how I fuel me has become genuinely interesting. Walks on a treadmill at home have started too. Dropping some weight is the hope, and mobility should follow. A 2km walk got managed today and I felt so proud!
On the reta: im 3 doses in. 1mg first, then 2mg and 2mg. The emotional binging and cravings have vanished. No more late nights grazing the fridge. No more junk. A real home meal every day. 9lbs lost in almost 3 weeks.
So with all that said, hi everyone! Thanks for having me — what looks like a mass of information here has me excited to dive in!
