We tested counterfeit peptides off the black market. Here are the results

A chemical testing lab begins testing unapproved peptides as demand for the products booms on social media.

www.abc.net.au

They say they test 3 vials of Reta 10, one half of what it was meant to be and 2 almost 1.5-2x. Oh and one vial didn’t have anything in it. I haven’t been around as long as many here, but I haven’t seen such bad results before. Usually like 9-13 mg/vial. It made me wonder where in the world did they get these vials?!

Overfill of Vials, they just don't know makes us like a Kid in a Candy Store. Just got 3 kits of Reta 30 with ugly pucks. Had almost 35 mg fill. Bonus!

Yeah, nothing at all about the source, could have been a med spa or a corner market or who knows. Im really quite tired of this kind of half-baked, poorly done article. Real journalism is apparently dead.

Yeah overfill is great as long as variance is low. What do you do with a kit of R30 where a group test found 1 vial with 34.5mg but 2 others with 4mg? Average fill isn't very useful sometimes. Fortunately, that has been rare. Most of my batches have been reasonably consistent.

The label with the sticker and marker "RETA" is almost comical.. They need some better labels.

Where is Gr33dyOctopus when the peptide industry is calling for him??...

But where tho???? 😅😅🤔🤔

I don't talk to many people at my work about peptides but the few I do.... You can tell they follow the "media" a little too close... Usual I just say "The Supplements I take...." 😇😇

"Those are made in a guys bathtub, right?..."

"aren't those illegal?..."

"I'll grow a 3rd from it, tho!!.."

This is why I really don't talk to anyone about it either. I get tired of explaining over and over that the stuff they read on Facebook posts from the local news is just manipulated half truths. My patience is just wearing thinner with age.

In most of the scientific papers I have seen they generally buy them from randomly picked sources, and like with the people writing the article this is probably closer to most peoples' experiences than the experiences of people on this forum. Mostly the results of scientific papers have similar results buying from whoever on tiktok or facebook, about half are scams , a lot have no peptide in them and doses are rarely accurate. Buying from vendors found on here is a different experience, despite the fact that there is no official vetting of sources, bad vendors get kicked off, and people tell each other about bad results or bad experiences, and in general people on here are far more well informed than average as well. A selected group of people buying from a select group of vendors are going to get much more reliable products than average.

This. 100% If someone REALLY wants to know and is genuine I will help them but it's so far and few between it's better of just being quiet.

I also have this issue with anyone who drinks (Sober 11 years myself). I just nod my head in the background and smile when they talk about drinking stores...

Me: "you stupid bastards.. go ahead and poison yourself.."

Have a Good One!

Oh interesting. I just thought people on tik tok etc were getting the stuff from similar vendors and reselling it. Reminder for me that bad vendors do exist.

Unfortunately there is no real way to know how good or bad the peptides out there on the market overall are, Overall I suspect pretty poor, but unless someone does a study comparing peptides bought from reputable vendors with evidence of being around for a while, and some effort at testing, versus random sellers online, there are not likely to be good answers, just guesswork. And it does matter even here, if a large percentage of people buying peptides online get bad products or ripped off , it increases pressure on governments to crack down on peptide imports. Making confiscation by customs more likely.
