Always feel super cold, not sure why/how to fix it. possible side effect?

I've been on 2mg Reta for around 5 weeks now. Ever since I started, I constantly feel insanely cold despite wearing warm clothes and living in Australia. Has anyone else experienced this as a side effect or am I going crazy

No, you're not. This was one of the worst side effects I experienced on reta. It never went away; I was cold even in June. I'm now off reta and feel warm again.
 
Its a common side effect, I had It in spring in England and for a little while just thought it was still a bit cold. It was only when I'd walk into the staff work room, saying it's freezing and turning my little heater on and everyone else would look at me quizzically.

It was worst for me at my starting dose of 2mg and when I went up to 4mg. It went away after being on 4mg for several weeks and the side effects haven't reappeared since going up to 6mg.
 
I sometimes have this happen with Reta. Last week I was trying to take a nap in my bedroom: it was 27°C, and I had to get under the blanket. I took my temperature, no problem. My thyroid hormone levels are fine. I guess it’s just nerves, "idiopathic" paresthesia (the thing doctors say instead of “I don’t know”).
 
Ha, I thought it was just me! Been feeling cold for weeks now, though it is winter in Oz. Thought it must have been the weight loss. I can handle being cold if I'm losing weight 😉
 
I was cold but thought it was as a result of the loss of a layer of insulating fat. It didn't happen immediately but rather ater shedding pounds, so maybe a few weeks in. Skin sensitivity has been the side effect that's lasted the longest. Been almost four months now.

You bet, I had the same effect on Tirz..

especially hands and feet for me for a while
 
This winter I was cold cold while taking Reta... a common side effect, and luckily not something I find particularly bothersome. At times I was riding in the truck with the seat warmer on and the heat on full blast.😂 It subsided in severity after a few weeks.

Now we're in summer, in the south east US, and I still get cold indoors. My default has always favored the cold, which was ironic giving where I live. Now My house stays at 73-74* vs sleeping with it turned down to 68*. I work outside, and so far, heat hasn't been an issue, but I do work in a machine more now than years past.
 
I’ve had the same thing. I’ve been incredibly since dropping about the initial 20 pounds. And as a big guy, I almost and never cold. So a pretty surprising side effect.
 
The last few weeks, sitting in my recliner in the evening, I've been turning the AC up a few degrees. Getting a blanket. Absolutely feel cold. Never thought about the Reta.

I hear ya, didn't hit a side until 4mg. Constantly cold cold went away with time, but any air movement feels like an arctic blast on my skin. I'm still fat and always run hot, I would guess it would be worse if I wasn't 60 pounds away from my goal weight. I don't have any solution, but we all crazy, in a way.
 
It still happens to me a lot, even though it's been 7 months and I'm up to 6mg/wk. On the bright side, I haven't had to run my central air as much this summer.
 
Yes freezing all the time. For me it has nothing to do with reta, I get this way every time I am in a significant calorie deficit...dating back to before GLP1s existed.
 
I also have experienced it during first few months of Tirz use. I think it is related with calorie deficit and losing weight in a short time. Your metabolism is getting adapted to it. But it stops when you begin to loose less weight and your body begins to use calories from your body fat.
 
I spent a year on Tirz and I cannot explain the cold sensations I felt. My hands and fingers were the worst areas affected.

I'm a very active person and have always been too warm as opposed to feeling cold and I genuinely enjoyed the cold weather. Now I'm on Reta I do still feel the similar cold feeling, however it is nowhere near as bad as Tirz for me.

When I took a break from GLP1's the cold hands never went away either, not sure if its just something ill be left with for life. Instead of being a fast food consumer, I'll be forever purchasing winter wear.... I guess the system always wins somehow.

Getting cold as a side effect of GLP-1's is getting cold on your whole body. For instance, urge for sitting under a plaid in a room where nobody else complains about cold.

Having specific cold hands all the time can also be related with something else. I used to smoke 40 sigarettes/day until 10 years ago. I had always cold hands until I quitted. Long time ago had the same problem also from carpal thunnel syndrome on both hands and was over after being operated.

I did in fact have these symptoms and was cold all the time, the worst being my hands and fingers.

GP check up confirmed no underlying issues and was attributed to Tirz usage (Mounjaro at the time). Also a non smoker and no alcohol either.

I'm on Reta now and the whole body feeling of being cold is as prominent to be honest, just the persisting cold hands/fingers. Who knows, at least its manageable.
