Hola

Me sentó fatal.

Hello

For close to 3 months, I'd stayed away from alcohol. Then yesterday, while out with friends, I drank 1 beer plus 2 glasses of wine. The result was horrible. I woke up with a splitting headache, as though I were dealing with an enormous hangover.

I realize my liver is handling fatty acid release via the glutathione pathway, yet the reaction is severe enough that even a small amount of alcohol hits me hard.

Quitting drinking is the plan, and honestly it's what I want, but in social settings — like what happened yesterday — I sometimes felt pressured to join in so I wouldn't come across as odd.

Going forward, I'll either tell people I'm not feeling well or skip the outing altogether, because sitting in a pub where everyone else is drinking while I sip water or Diet Coke feels genuinely awkward.

Does anyone have tips for handling these moments? How do you all manage?

I’ll just get a single beer and nurse it slowly. Should someone say something, I explain that I’m taking rata and drinking messes with it.

No pasa nada.

I began taking Reta last September, and since then I've only had 2 beers in total, both at Christmas. Each one took me an hour to finish. For 20+ years I was a hard drinker, yet once I started Reta the desire simply vanished. It switched off, and I've accepted that. At a New Years party I stuck to seltzer with a lime in it, and nobody even noticed. These days friends can drink around me, or offer to buy me a round, and I just smile and show them my seltzer. It doesn't trigger me anymore. My liver enzyme scores are the lowest they've been in my adult life.

Something else I picked up on: I thought my fingernails were growing faster. That seemed odd to me until I worked out that I've stopped biting them! I've done it since I was a kid, and Reta put a stop to that too. To me this is a wonder drug.

I appreciate you telling me how it went for you—it's really useful to me. My friends will just have to accept that I'm not drinking, and if that's a problem for them, then maybe they weren't such great friends to begin with.

Another thing I noticed is that I thought my fingernails have been growing faster. I thought that was strange until I realized that I no longer chew them! I have since I was a kid, and that stopped with Reta also. This is a wonder drug to me.

This is a strange one. My left thumb was hurting whenever I put pressure on it, like when gripping a glass or something similar. I don't know if it was arthritis or another cause. Now it has mostly disappeared.

Here's a odd one. I had an issue with my left thump applying pressure to hold a glass or whatever. Not sure it was arthritis or something else. It's almost gone.

From the point you began Reta? For me it's been excellent at lowering inflammation. I used to take medication for gout and would get flares a few times a year, but after starting Reta, I no longer need the medication and have stayed clear throughout. In my view, research is only uncovering the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the benefits.

Solo he bajado 4lbs este mes.

I have a similar expeirence not sure if it's from reta or glow, I have had weakness in my fingers on my right hand when using nail clippers and squeezing them to cut my nails. But a few months after starting using these the strength has returned. Kinda crazy

A mí me pasa igual.
