Acid Reflux / GERD

I dealt with some level of heartburn pretty much around the clock, which started before I ever began GLP treatment. A generic version of Voquezna sourced from India turned out to be a miracle pill for me. Another thing that made a difference was sleeping in a recliner.
Does that still exist these days?

Correct. Vonoprazan is the generic name for Voquezna, and you can get it through AllDayChemist and IndiaMart. Last year I picked some up from Kawal, despite it not being listed on his site (DMOnlineMeds). Beyond Care (BeyondMedex) might stock it as well. IndianMart vendors typically only show a portion of what they actually carry on their websites. ReliableRx/AllDayChemist was another place I sourced it from.

Pet medications are another item India supplies well. A few GBs exist for pet meds coming from India, which helps with customs and keeps shipping expenses down.

Much appreciated.

Same thing happened to me — it was my birthday, and I went way overboard with chocolate and cake for 2 days straight, which gave me awful nighttime heartburn. Lying on my left side was the only way I could get any sleep. Cutting out the greasy stuff really helped a lot.

I moved my dose up to 2mg per week and didn't experience any side effects. Once I went higher than that, I went through what people used to refer to as the ketoflu for roughly 2 days. That's when the acid reflux and heartburn started. It was bad enough at night that it would wake me up. I also picked up on the fact that it happened when I ate too late, so I adjusted the timing of my meals. These days I'm on 4mg, and the only situation where acid reflux shows up is when I'm due for a meal. Curious whether this has happened to anyone else. I've been getting woken up by it like clockwork somewhere between 2-3am, and I've had to eat a little bit of carbs to calm it down and fall back asleep.

Man, there's no chance that's what I had. For the past few days, I haven't dealt with any of those problems anymore. So now I'm thinking maybe mine was only short-lived too.

Hey everyone, over the last few days I’ve been dealing with what I believe is either Acid Reflux or GERD. I’d been having afternoon meals that were fairly fatty and greasy at times, but once night came and I lay down in bed, I’d feel this really unpleasant burning moving upward from my chest into my throat. Sometimes while lying down I’d have to sit up straight and burp repeatedly to get some relief and clear the gas out of my stomach. Is this a serious issue where I ought to reduce my dose, or is there something I should be doing to stop it? For a bit more background, I was on 1 mg of reta for roughly 2 weeks and had no bad side effects, so I bumped it up to 2 mg, and now I’m wondering if that’s too much and whether I should try 1.5.
It's heartburn for sure…Reta gives it to me as well, particularly when I have fried or acidic foods. Try drinking milk, or take an antacid tablet such as Tums. Watch out with the other pills, certain ones are only okay for 14 days.

Yep. Reta is the culprit. Certain foods make it worse for me—anything particularly greasy, or almond flour (oddly enough). For me, though, the heartburn only shows up at night. I sleep on my side, usually the right, and that position tends to encourage heartburn given how your organs are arranged when you're lying that way (or at least that's what I've read, but it does seem to hold true). Ever since I switched to sleeping on my left side and started taking an antacid before bed, it's been manageable. Maybe that'll help you too!
Sleeping on the right side causes the same thing, that's accurate. I can't stand lying on my left side. So I just turn onto my back, or take a tums.
My EP is adamant that I should sleep on my right side, since that lowers the stroke risk tied to AFib. The problem is that whenever I do it, heartburn kicks in, which happens because GLP-1s make my stomach empty extremely slowly.

Once I reached 4mg, it genuinely cleared up in roughly 7 days. What stood out was that it flared up most whenever I had food too near bedtime, or when the meal had a lot of fat in it.

Because of this, our dinner time moved up to about 5-5:30 from 6:30. And clearly, we're eating much less.

I've begun including Omeprazole in my nighttime medication routine, and it appears to be effective. Since the anabolics I'm already using can cause mild acid reflux, I used to chew a Pepcid complete occasionally. However, after making the change to Omeprazole, I haven't required any Pepcid up to this point.

Heartburn means the only way I can sleep is on my left side...

Vonoprazan has been a total game-changer for me. Ever since my sleeve surgery, my acidity has been awful, so I depend on peptobismol, omeprazole, esmeprazole, pantoprazole, and Gelusil.. Yet once vonoprazan is in the picture, all those other concerns fade away: lying on my side, eating greasy meals, even getting caught off guard by painfully spicy food [heck, capsaicin is a neurotoxin]

Omeprazole worked for me too, so I can back that up. From what I've heard, another factor that can trigger it or intensify it is going to lie down not long after a meal — just mentioning it in case that's something someone tends to do, because I know I used to lol
