Hello everyone,
Male, 40 year old, and my health has been a rollercoaster. Nothing serious, but I swing between gym-obsessed health nut and couch potato party animal. Call it an early midlife crisis if you like — I want to get back to 250lbs at roughly 10% BF. Right now I'm 6'4 and somewhere near 310lbs. February 15 is when Retatrutide entered the picture, and it has reshaped my life.
The opening pin was 1mg and honestly nothing registered, so week two saw a bump to 2mg. That puts me 7mg in cumulatively! Colleagues keep asking what on earth I'm up to. My wife is amazed.
It's been a long time since I felt like this. Appetite suppression isn't really how I'd frame it — the thinking itself changed. After my 11hr shift, stopping at McDonalds on the drive home no longer appeals. White fish, chicken, steak, ground beef and root vegetables are what I CRAVE. No explanation for it, but every trace of desire for sweets or junk has gone. A PRECOR treadmill is on order for the garage, and the home gym build starts soon. The nagging shoulder injuries still need looking into. Nothing diagnosed, yet I know heavy lifting while cutting in my early 30's did damage. Cigarettes came and went over the years, and I've done my share of drinking too. My Mitochondria have certainly paid for it.
Finding this forum has been a genuine stroke of luck, and talking with all of you day to day is something I'm looking forward to. Sharing detailed progress, pictures and videos from the journey is another thing I'm keen on.
P.S, my father is also in my care and his health is poor. Canadian doctors handed him a laundry list of medications without ever addressing the root cause. As I see it, Mitochondrial decay (decades of smoking), Insulin Resistance (processed garbage) and systemic inflammation (from both the above and the prescriptions) are what he's dealing with. Fixing him and fixing myself at the same time is my plan.
Thanks for the welcome, guys, and God bless.
