Hey all — I'm closing in on 40, raising 2 little ones, and my health has slipped completely out of my hands. My weight used to stay somewhere between 220 and 240, but over the past five years things really spiraled.

When the scale hit 290, I knew I couldn't put off doing something any longer.

For the past few weeks I've been watching what I eat and I'm now at 275, yet the food noise is relentless.

Sadly, my insurance won't pay for any GLP's, and that's despite me having severe obstructive sleep apnea and being pre diabetic.

A ton of reading eventually led me to this place.

From what I gather, Reta is what everyone's buzzing about right now, and I'm trying to learn enough about it to feel confident going forward.

Dosage and sterility are what worry me most. A few leads on where to get it have come my way, and I've already earned the rite of passage of being called "honey" and "my dear" 🙂

Like most folks here, I wouldn't be posting if this were simple, and sadly I don't have the money to send everything off for individual testing.

I'd say my main aim on this site is to get into a group test.

What makes reta the pick over tirz? Getting tirz is simpler, and when it comes to "food noise" it tends to deliver better results for most people. With tirz, the effect on food noise kicks in almost right away, whereas a lot of users say reta doesn't do that and they end up stacking another compound (cagri?) on top. I began with tirz and had plans to move to reta, but because of the food noise I'm now running a low dose of each, switching between them. Compounding pharmacies and gray sources carry tirz, while reta only comes from gray.

That's a solid question! The glucagon component appeals to me. Over the past 5 years I drank a good amount of whiskey, so cutting down visceral fat is a priority for me. As for food noise being tough, I've been taking in under 1600 calories daily. My goal isn't to feel repulsed by food, just to satisfy my hunger.

What worries me about Reta is that it could raise heart rate. I'm sure the same might happen with triz too.
On tirz I never saw any rise in heart rate, even at my top dose of 5mg every 5 days. After reaching 2mg reta, I began noticing a mild uptick in heart rate, along with occasional panicky sensations. It's not unbearable, and my heart is healthy, but I'll be keeping an eye on things when I move up to 3mg next week.
