Hey everyone. Like the title says, I'm a 26M and I've been making a lifestyle change — things are going really well so far, and I want to keep building up what I know to support myself!

My start date was 01/01/26 (yep, I'm one of those "new year new me" clichés lol) at 336lb and 6'6". Roughly 1.5 months in, I began Reta @ .5MG, then worked my way up to 4mg. Between cardio/resistance training every day and really locking in my diet — tracking calories & macros, that kind of thing — I'm sitting at 293lbs right now and feeling better than I have at any point in my adult life. This whole health-focused world is new to me, so any tips or guidance as I keep researching would mean a lot!

"New year new me" isn't just a cliché — it genuinely happens. A strong shared momentum of transformation and renewal is in the air. Riding that surge of excitement society generates every January strikes me as a really smart move.

Research has likewise pointed to a notable "fresh start" effect kicking in at the start of every month, and at the start of every week. On top of that, each morning hands us another fresh start. I enjoy using these moments to picture myself receiving a brand new opportunity, and to ask what my future best self would do to seize whatever chances come my way each month, week, and day 👍🏼⚡️

Goodness, that's quite the sizable fellow! I'm 27, and I'm also in better shape than I have been in ages. Happy to have you here.

Nice work, man — your approach is spot on. Combining diet and exercise with macro tracking is a surefire path to success! One piece of advice: aim to keep your GLP dose as low as you can. My guess is you've still got weight left to drop, so you don't want to raise the dose too fast and end up maxed out and tolerant.

Whenever weight loss plateaus, here's my method:

Instead of titrating up, I cut my daily calories by a 100. If I can hold that new deficit without much trouble, I stay at the same dose.

Best of luck on your journey

Wishing you success! I genuinely believe that after you hit your 1-year weight target, things in life will feel entirely different.

What weight are you aiming for?
To be honest, I don't really know. I've been on the heavier side for as long as I can remember. I have significant Scottish ancestry and a "strong man" frame — wide shoulders, a barrel chest, that sort of thing. At first I was aiming to get under 300lbs, but after reaching that point I realized I could push further. This morning I weighed 290lbs, and the next milestone I'm chasing is 280lbs.

Appreciate it! The main factor behind my bump to 4mg was all the chatter I came across online claiming that the Glucagon agonist inside Reta only really "does its job" once you hit 4mg+ per week. Whether that holds true, I honestly can't say. It ended up working out fine in my case. For now, and until I hit a stall, I'm staying put at 4mg.

Great work on the path you're on! I'm using reta too. My starting dose was .5mg, and I'm still at 2mg. After looking into things for quite some time, I'm now taking several peptides. Stay with it and keep showing up!

Thank you! One of the reasons I upped to 4mg is because I saw a lot of discourse online about the Glucagon agonist in the Reta doesn’t fully “do its job” until 4mg+ weekly. Not sure if that’s actually the case or not. Seemed to work out pretty well for me. I am coasting at 4mg for the foreseeable future or until I stall.

Once I reached 4mg per week after 2 months, the change was unmistakable! People say that's the point where things really start working.

Because you don't have a clear idea of the weight you ought to be at, it might help to check your body fat percentage and compare it with what's considered healthy for a man of your age.

For figuring out body composition, the scale tells you almost nothing, so perhaps look for a method to assess your present fitness level, which would let you establish goals you can actually reach.

Wishing you the best!
