A new member here, out of Indiana. GLP medications entered my life last year.

December 2024 had my starting weight at 258lbs. Gym visits 3-4 days per week plus calorie counting brought that to 233lbs by June 2025. An oral medication was added by my healthcare team, and food noise only eased mildly on it.

Medications generally make me wary, so I always want the lowest dose first and steer clear of anything habit forming, given family and personal history.

Eventually I put the question about a GLP to them. Tirz was the answer, and the change was IMMEDIATE. What I'd assumed was my own missing willpower turned out to be my brain finally cooperating with my goals. Feeling genuine hunger, and being able to stop once my body decided it had eaten enough, was something I hadn't known I could do. December 2025 arrived with me at 211lbs.

Then word came, as it did for so many, that my medication would no longer be covered. More precisely: a $500 copay that wouldn't count toward my deductible. That's the road that led me into the gray rabbit hole.

This world is still new to me, and every bit of information I can gather is being soaked up so I can do it as safely as possible. Healthcare experience is on my side, which helps with injection aseptic technique and dosage call. My husband has joined the journey too, with his first dose of tirz just last Tuesday.

Everybody here has more to teach me, and I'm eager for it!
